Commercial Description:
Another recently created American style, wheat wine, as its name implies, is a strong ale made with a substantial measure of malted wheat as well as barley. A close cousin to barleywines, wheat wines are typically strong, full bodied, deep gold to amber in color and feature a subtle soft tangy flavor derived from their wheat malt.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Hoppy, citrusy nose. Medium body, citrusy accents and a fairly solid dose of hops. Unfortunately this appears a little tired. 270607

[297-20070503] 1pt6floz (c/o blankboy, w/ him, GregClow, jerc, mds). A bit of hoppy grass and light citrus aroma. Clear, orange red body with a quick little head. Very boozy, overly sweet. Medium-full body. Overpowering booze, ugh.

The wheat adds a nice light touch to the barley-wine style. A solid drink, if a little underwhelming. Carbonation is nice, but perhaps a little much.

Bu au Post-Mondial 07. Blonde dorée, mini collet. Arome d’houblon aux fruits et de blé doux. Goût d’houblon aux fruits crèmeux, un peu fleurie. Un drole de vin d’orge.
