Clear, orange red body with a quick little head. Very boozy, overly sweet. Medium-full body. Overpowering booze, ugh. mkobes (2103), paramus, New Jersey, USA Jun 17, 2007 22 oz bottle. Deep copper in color with a little off white head. Sweet malty fruity aroma. Apples and pears. Malty fruity and hoppy flavor. Grapefruit and piney notes. Spicy caramel finish. Sweet tasting. Full bodied. Drinkable beer. jglazer75 (11), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jun 4, 2007 The wheat adds a nice light touch to the barley-wine style. A solid drink, if a little underwhelming. Carbonation is nice, but perhaps a little much. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA May 27, 2007 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a small khaki head. The aroma was sweet, tangy and had an apple element. The flavor was sweet, tart, bitter and had elements of fruity hops, apple, cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel. The finish was spicy and fruity. The hops were somewhat subdued initially but increased dramatically and pleasantly as it warmed. Very nice. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 26, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy orange with a bubbly ring of head. Orangey hop aroma, some soap, resin, and underlying bread. Sharp flavour with lots of lingering grapefruit and pine notes. Bread and wheat backbone provide solid balance. Sparkling carbonation. Ofortuna (322), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA May 21, 2007 Had this a couple times and the latest version had the alcohol better hidden, but still some fusels throughout. Good use of the wheat in this one and a touch of nuttiness present. Slight hint of cloves and allspice on the aroma. Some caramel and toffee notes in the finish.
