It had a nice wheat flavor to it, with something underneath that I just can’t put my finger on (sorry). Had a great warmth to it. A very smooth sipper; good on a cold night. drewbeerme (2272), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2007 22oz bottle, 2006, pours goldish amber color with very minimal white head. nose is very weak, has flutters of caramel, cheese, and paper. flavor has surprising amount of bitterness for how little hop aroma it has, other notes of toffee, wheat bread, and butter. mouthfeel is a pretty thin and fizzy. alcohol is very well hidden. this could use more unfermented sugars. finished dry, bitter, and with alcohol warmth. i liked this more than my rating indicates but if their going for an american style bw they need to bring in some PNW hop aroma. thornecb (1755), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2007 Pours bright, clear amber into a snifter. Conglomerate/micro tan head leaves splotchy lacing as it slowly recedes. Strong vanilla, malt and alcohol aromas. Creamy and full with upfront sweet caramel and a lasting alcohol-tinged bitter vanilla finish. jayme9874 (756), Hamburg, New York, USA

Hazy amber/copper. Very slight head. Malty nose, hints of wheat, peach and others. Medium-full body, bit syrupy lots of sweet malt, tangy wheat, woody and hoppy with alcohol poking through quite noticeably. Dry and bitter in finish. Not that great to be honest, its tough to drink at first. Improves as it warms but doesn’t save it. Not a bad beer just young I think. I may stash one for 2 years and see what happens. shrubber85 (2881), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2007 Bottle. Prune juice and pineapple hops aroma. Amber color with small head. Sweet pineapple hops with a smooth malt finish. Nice malty aftertaste. The wheat mellowed this out somewhat - really enjoyed this and prefer this to the typical barleywines. danmalleck (25), Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark ruby, cherry. I don’t get much on the nose but this is the third beer of tonight’s session. Lovely on the palate, malty, a little tangy. medium sized bubbles at the beginning, but tighten up right away. Lacing is minor. Nice on the palate, lingers a bit, then on to the next sip. iowaherkeye (1850), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2007 22oz bomber Bottle Conditioned in 2006. Pours a clear orange copper with a 1/2 finger yellowish beige head fading to a creamy film. First popping the cap I smelled flower petals, but this has diminished somewhat in my glass. Other aromas include sweet caramel, a little resiny hops, juicy raisins, faint orange rinds and wood. Flavor not quite as sweet as I would’ve thought from the aroma, alcohol ever present and still a bit boozy. No flower petals, though everything else is there from the aroma. Dry lingering bitter finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation, just slightly prickly on the tongue. Big thanks to Dan jah noth for this one. brewblackhole (1370), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2007 Cherry fruit and alcohol come through in the aroma, taste is heavy fruit ,like cherry cough syrup, a little malt vanilla, with wheat tartness finishes very dry ,after all that sweetness,no doubt due to heavy hopping. Tasty, pleasant a touch on the fruity side
