Commercial Description:
Another recently created American style, wheat wine, as its name implies, is a strong ale made with a substantial measure of malted wheat as well as barley. A close cousin to barleywines, wheat wines are typically strong, full bodied, deep gold to amber in color and feature a subtle soft tangy flavor derived from their wheat malt.

(2006 22oz bottle) Number 700. Wow, it took long, see what a hiatus does to your stats:) Hazy amber/copper. Very slight head. Malty nose, hints of wheat, peach and others. Medium-full body, bit syrupy lots of sweet malt, tangy wheat, woody and hoppy with alcohol poking through quite noticeably. Dry and bitter in finish. Not that great to be honest, its tough to drink at first. Improves as it warms but doesn’t save it. Not a bad beer just young I think. I may stash one for 2 years and see what happens.

Bottle. Prune juice and pineapple hops aroma. Amber color with small head. Sweet pineapple hops with a smooth malt finish. Nice malty aftertaste. The wheat mellowed this out somewhat - really enjoyed this and prefer this to the typical barleywines.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby, cherry. I don’t get much on the nose but this is the third beer of tonight’s session. Lovely on the palate, malty, a little tangy. medium sized bubbles at the beginning, but tighten up right away. Lacing is minor. Nice on the palate, lingers a bit, then on to the next sip.

22oz bomber Bottle Conditioned in 2006. Pours a clear orange copper with a 1/2 finger yellowish beige head fading to a creamy film. First popping the cap I smelled flower petals, but this has diminished somewhat in my glass. Other aromas include sweet caramel, a little resiny hops, juicy raisins, faint orange rinds and wood. Flavor not quite as sweet as I would’ve thought from the aroma, alcohol ever present and still a bit boozy. No flower petals, though everything else is there from the aroma. Dry lingering bitter finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation, just slightly prickly on the tongue. Big thanks to Dan jah noth for this one.

Cherry fruit and alcohol come through in the aroma, taste is heavy fruit ,like cherry cough syrup, a little malt vanilla, with wheat tartness finishes very dry ,after all that sweetness,no doubt due to heavy hopping. Tasty, pleasant a touch on the fruity side

2006 22 oz. bottle from my Secret Santa - Pours a hazy amber color with a thin off white head. Very soft carbonation. Has a light fruit (plum) aroma. Flavor is also slightly fruity with some noticeable bitterness. Has a thin palate. Light to medium body. Decent beer. Worth a try. Thanks Andy.

Bottle ala Jeff. Amber color with a few white bubbles. Lots of malt and fruit in the aroma. Plums and wheat dominate. Flavors match the nose, with some mild spice and vanilla oak also in the mix. A touch too sweet.

On tap, mohagany in color with a thin white head. A hoppy aroma with some fruit elements to it. Flavor was fruity and sweet but not over powering hops were present in the aftertaste. The alcohol seemed to be well hidden.
