cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 12, 2008 Cask at GBBF 2008 ... Copper brown ... sweet vanilla nose ... mellow roast .. some spirit ... loads fo toffe and vanilla . yummm Fin (3382), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Aug 12, 2008 Cask at GBBF 2008 Pours murky brown, this is a real bolshie, full bodied, heavy hitting beer totally in yer’ face. Quite thick and fullsome in the mouth, lacking in subtlety but not without its plus points. Bit too sweet for me, but there are some nice malty and wheaty touches. RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England Aug 9, 2008 Cask@GBBF 2008. Brownish beer with a malty aroma and a rich and malty flavour. Overall a smooth malty and rich beer. hughie (3018), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 8, 2008 Cask at GBBF ’08. Dark copper: a good looking beer. Tasted good too, in fact it was the Beer of the Festival as far as I was concerned. Glorious sweet malty alcoholic aroma. Sweet oily taste, full of forbidden pleasures. Some bitterness and an earthy, lingering vegetal aftertaste. Loved it. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Aug 7, 2008 Cask@GBBF2008. Hazy orange colour, small beige bubbly head. Aroma is alcohol and wheat with some minor spicy notes. Flavour is fruits, wheat, alcohol and some mild spices. Gets quite bitter in the finish. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 6, 2008 Bottle courtesy tpd975. Pours a hazy amber with a one finger off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, wheat, spicy yeast, and light fruit. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 5, 2008 Unclear amber with tiny beige bupply head. Sweet fruity aroma with citric and caramel notes.
