Commercial Description:
Another recently created American style, wheat wine, as its name implies, is a strong ale made with a substantial measure of malted wheat as well as barley. A close cousin to barleywines, wheat wines are typically strong, full bodied, deep gold to amber in color and feature a subtle soft tangy flavor derived from their wheat malt.

Pour looks like a regular barleywine. Syrupy brown/orange body with a thick beige head. Aroma is apples, green grapes, and honey. Flavor is different fruits, carmel, mollasses, dirt/minerals with a musty wood and alcohol finish. Definately got better as it sat. Not a big fan.

Bottle. Sweet aroma, with alcohol. Hazy ruby body, small head. Alcohol permeates the flavor, quite distractingly. Otherwise, moderately sweet, caramel and fruity. The flavor is nice, but overall the impression is much too heavy on the alcohol.

22 oz bottle from....damn, who was it? thanks, mystery trader! pours a dark orange with little carbonation and surprisingly little wheat characteristics show up in the aroma and flavor. instead it’s a well-balanced beer with strong malt and some deep earthy hops, and just a tiny bit of yeasty tanginess shows up. i wish it had a slightly fuller body with somehat less alcohol thinness, because a nice sticky finish would make this absolute bliss to sip.

Bottle/22 - Updated 11/14/09 - Pours a cloudy dark amber in color with a small white head that faded quickly, Aroma is maly sweet and quite fruity... apples,citrus... with plenty of spicy hops. Flavor is initially sweet, but then the hops and bitterness kick in forcefully. It is also a bit fruity... citrus hops, apple... with plenty of alcohol bite; perhaps too much. Finishes slightly sweet to start an then medium bitter at the end. Thick palate. I like this one...

Clear copper with a negligible head. Beautiful nose--fruity, with grapefruit and apricots; hints of pine, and a wonderful honey sweetness beneath it all. Flavor is fairly sweet--more honey, some caramel--with a pronounced dry bitterness, some orange and apricot. Big thanks to AxlLives for sending this one.

Strong fruity aroma; apple, pear, white grapes. Hazy, almost cloudy color with a medium brown head. Smooth start to this one. Palate is thick and creamy. Mild alcohol bitterness to the finish.

Thanks bro for picking this up. Pours a rich rustic color with thin white head. Aroma is of rich malt, an fruit with a wheat spiciness. Taste is much the same. Reminds me of Old Curmudgeon or a barley wine. Decent brew.

Pours a fading ring of beige head with a copper-ruby body. Aromas of caramel, butter, dark bread. Flavors of caramel, little resin, wheat bread. Finish has some bitterness. This puppy’s full of alcohol, sticky icky, and powerfully hopped.
