Leaves a lasting orange flavor on the tongue. argo0 (7044), Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2005 (22oz bottle) Clear amber body with orange-tinted off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, plum, wheat, light turpentine. Taste is sweet, plum/raisin, caramel, some grapefruit, light vanilla. Finishes with some alcohol warming. Medium body, not as thick as most b-wines due to the wheat -- quite easy drinking given the ABV. RichardGretton (3166), Leicestershire, England

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2006 Dark orange body with a diminishing head around the sides of the snifter. A fully-hopped nose that is also slightly sweet and fruity. Very barleywine-like, as expected from the CD. The finish lingers and is quite bitter and even a little too astringent. Well-blanced flavor with plenty of honey, hops and a bit of wheat, but nothing strikingly wheaty here. GregClow (2516), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Orange-amber with no head. Big, sweet, warm aroma of orange candy and caramel malt. Flavour is big and well-balanced, with the malt, fruit, wheat and hop notes playing off each other perfectly, and not seeming like 11% at all. Great way to end our tasting! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2006 Updated: May 31, 2006Dark amber body, tine head that vanishes fast. Sweet smell, alcohol, and intense bready nose ... made me think of Hop Rod Rye. A bit sweet, but unlike most barley wines this was very spicey, again reminding me of Hop Rod Rye. Alcohol and bubble gum hidden ... unlike most barley wines ... must be the wheat, since this is not very strongly hopped. Nice balance. Can I find banana or honeydew or pear, any of the fruit that I usually find in a wheat beer? Maybe a bit of banana and hoenydew, hidden under the spice. I do like this. crazyvin (1255), New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2007 On tap, mohagany in color with a thin white head. A hoppy aroma with some fruit elements to it. Flavor was fruity and sweet but not over powering hops were present in the aftertaste. The alcohol seemed to be well hidden.
