Pours a beautiful dark reddish brown out of the bottle. Not much going on for your nose on this one, just a touch of spiciness. Flavor wise it has the spicy flavor of many Belgians, but that's about it as far as the Belgian connection goes. Has a pronounced sweetness, with some fruit undertones. Finishes a touch dry with a slight effervescence. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Decent pour with a nice head and deep dark amber color. A light sweetness, which isn’t familiar to a brown ale.

12 oz. bottle from Top Shelf Brews at a good price. Dark brown color with no head and soft carbonation. Aroma is light Belgian yeast and caramel malts.

Flavor starts with darker malts, hints of dark fruits, traces of yeast. Light mild spice in the finish. Hops also adds needed bitterness to round off the sweet malts and yeast. Medium grain in body with a chewy texture. Overall not the prototypical Dubbel but for the lower ABV makes it a easier session type brew for sure. Decent on the shelf beer.

bottle - Pours dark amber with a thick light tan head. It has a lightly roasted malt aroma with a hint of dark fruit. The flavor is similar with a little roast and dark fruit. It’s sweet, bubbly, and seems oxidized. Decent at best.

355 ml bottle in Margate FL. Pours a light brown with a red hue and no head. Some sweetness on the nose but not much else. Dull cherry flavor along with some other dark fruits and an oddly bitter bite in the palate.

This is a good beer. It is certainly not overwhelming for a winter ale. I would have like to see a bit more spices in it, but it has a nice taste. Poured from bottle. Dark reddish color, aroma is not too strong. Taste could be a bit more flavorful. If youre on the fence about trying this beer...TRY IT

12 ounce bottle. Hazy reddish brown color topped by a small creamy beige head. Nice caramel malt nose with a hint of dark raisins. Sweet roasted malt flavor has notes of brown sugar and Dr. Pepper. Slight yeastiness and spicy hops come through in mid taste. Finish is cloyingly sweet and malty. Smooth and tasty.

A maltier take on a dubbel, this beer is on the shallow end in terms of complexity for this style. Toffee, the sweet and bitter notes of molasses, and dark fruits like plum coat the palate while the expected esters never really make an appearance. A lightly pleasant sourness finishes the beer out and leaves me wanting more out of this beer.

To be fair, winter styles (winter warmer, christmas ale, spiced, etc.) are not usually for me. Slight roasty and burnt sugar smell. Maybe a hint of cherry in the taste, and a much stronger flavor of burnt sugar, which I am really not a fan of. Just a very middle of the road beer to me.

Bottle. Dark amber almost brown pour. Nice off white head with lacing. Aromas of sweet fruit, caramel, touch of spice, and some bread. The flavor is full of fruit, caramel, and more fruit. Easy drinking and enjoyable. Light chocolate notes also come to mind.

Looks like coca cola when poured. Creamy head when poured. Sweet aroma and taste. The carbonation is pleasant and the beer itself is sweet and not hoppy. - LeT
