BEERGUY007 (171), Scotia, New York, USA Jan 27, 2008 First...great label. 12 ounce bottle from Glenville beverage. Stored and served at 50 degrees. Dark brown in color, tan head nice brussels lacing, so I know it’s relatively fresh. I smell carmel and taste carmel and darker sugary fruits, raisins maybe. Just like the person below me, I was surprised too thiso ne scored so low. It was a great beer. Im going to go get some more very soon.
ucusty (1016), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 Dark amber pour thin tan head and some spotty lace. Roast aroma almost smokey. Oxidized flavor phishpond417 (1409), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 17, 2008 This beer pours a clear, dark copper colour. A small thin tan head, with a firm mouthfeel. It has hints of smoke and black licorice. Aromas of caramel, toffee, oak and cinnamon. Fairly smooth, but a little weak in its style representation. PilsnerPeter (1396), Flushing, New York, USA Jun 12, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger: Perhaps it was because it was oxidized, or I drank this stuff on a 90 degree day, but I wasn’t feeling it at all. Deep amber pour with no head. Sweet estery aroma. Maple, lots of raisin sweetness and a hint of clove-spice. Fizzy body. Sweet flavor with a harsh clove-like presence and tons of sweet raisiny flavors, followed by more ashy-clove in the oddly-spicy finish. Has an odd/dirty flavor which left an bad taste in my mouth. Butters (306), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 7, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Tastes sweet and with some spice. Pleasant warming. Medium mouthfeel with mild carbonation. Much better than corsendonk and almost reminds me of a cocoa porter.
