COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named in honor of the doggy denizens of Brussels, this hybrid beer is a mix of what we love best in a big, roasty stout, but fermented with a Belgian yeast, which brings out a beautiful fruity nose. We set aside a portion of the batch to age in bourbon barrels to allow the stouts chocolate and caramel flavors to marry with the woods natural vanilla and toastiness. The final blend pairs well with both savory dishes and your favorite desserts.

Bottle shared by Matt. Thanks! Pours deep brown-black with a dark tan head. Nose is way better than I expected. Banana laffy taffy and rich chocolate/roast. Somehow this works. Light caramel, low phenols, mostly just fruity esters. On tasting, big roast to go with the fruitiness. Medium sweetness and drying finish. A big beer with some odd stuff going on but pretty interesting overall. I like this one for sure.

My bottle [660ml] shared with GregClow, jerc & mabel. Pours a dark reddish-brown with an average size semi-lasting beige head. Slightly sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee and light leafy hops. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and coffee. Just hints of wood and vanilla in there. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.

2013-03-28. Very dark brown body with a small tan head. 3+ Dryish cocoa and chocolate, sweet dark malt. 7+ Flavour is similar, Ovaltine like dusty cocoa character. Sweet lingering finish, bit of vanilla, whispers if wood. Smooth average plus palate is softly carbonated and just a bit light for the beer overall. 3+ Enjoyable. Bottle shared by BlankBoy.

"Each of them was sort of the back door pilot."

Bottle pour opaque brown/black. Nose of roast, but also floral, cherry, and Belgian yeast. Tastes of bubblegum esters followed by chocolate, and roasted malt. Some tannin from the wood, followed by bitterness.

At Jerry’s in Andersonville. A decent imperial stout but all the traditional flavors were to reserved. Kick all flavors up one notch but keep the nice smoothness. Serving: Tap

22oz bottle, 2012 vintage. Served at cellar temperature.

Pours black with red highlights and a two finger brown head that leaves some spots of lacing and recedes to a small cap.

Aroma is definitely that of a Belgian-style stout...roasted malts, coffee and chocolate paired with dark fruits and a strong yeast presence. The bourbon barrel impact is quite mild, mostly just picking up notes of the oak and not much more. Very good overall strength.

Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, oak, dark fruits, Belgian yeast. Nice to see the barrel come through more here, but still mild overall compared to other barrel-aged stouts. Somewhat sweet, minimal bitterness, mild alcohol.

Mouthfeel is medium-plus bodied, sticky, good to sharp carbonation.

Pretty good, but I’d prefer their regular Imperial Stout, to be honest. Nice balance of Stout and Belgian characteristics, could have used more barrel influence.

Bottle from Market Square. Black pour with a frothy tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, toasted bread, fruity yeasts, ash, earth, roasted malts, oak and light chocolate. Fruity yeasts up front fading into bitter sweet chocolate, ash, oak, with some chalkiness coming in through the finish. Not bad.
