Brewed for 600 years Purmerend 1410 is een levend, niet gepasteuriseerd, bovengistend bier. Willem Eggert overleed in 1417. Water, Pils-, Pale Ale-, Kristal-, Tarwe- en Zwarte mout, Havervlokken, Saaz-,Challenger- en East Kent Goldings hop en Gist.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2015 Dark blond colour with lasting lacy head. A balanced blond beer with a dry and bitter finish. Good session beer but offers little more than a good pilsener.

For starters, this beer looks lovely. Aroma of light malt, fruits, fresh hops. Flavour is light sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Refreshing and easily drinkable Belgian Ale, I like the use of hops here.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white head. Nose is bready, dark fruit, light spice. Taste comprises light yeast esters, brown bread, dark fruit notes, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fruity linger in a semi drying close with a light hop presence. Ok but like so many ’Belgian Ales’ nothing to make me want to return for more though!

Stubby bottle 330ml at home, poured into a tulip. ABV 5.5% Mostly clear body, dark orange in colour. Small and froathy off-white head, with low retention, leaving spots of lacing around the glass. Faint aroma of malts and sugar. Taste is also malty and sweet, some light grains and faint fruity notes on the finish. Nice bitterness on the aftertaste with good duration. Thin body, low carbonation. Not the best from SNAB.
