Hele donker bruine kleur. Ruikt naar donkere chocolade. Stevig biertje. Goede body. Ondanks de iets bittere smaak, toch vrij zoete smaak. Heerlijk biertje voor een koude winteravond. Voor de zomer prefereer ik een iets frisser biertje.

Bijna zwarte kleur, amper schuim. Ruikt naar wijn, zoetig. Smaakt erg goed, beetje zoet, chocolade. Goede bittere nasmaak.

Good brown head, with a dry finish, notes of dried plum and chocolate. Rounded on the tongue and long finish.

33 cl bottle from the Euro local swap 3.0. Pours a slightly see through dark fluid, lots of carbonation which leaves a fairly large head that dissipates fast ad leaves nice lacings. Nose is malty sweet with some chocolate notes. A bit to much carbonation and a weak body ruins the overall experience. Pretty tasty though.

Bottle from European Local Swap 4.0. Thanks to Douberd. Very dark amber/brown beer with a nice lasting beige head. Chocolate aroma, dark bread, cocoa powder, roasted, licorice notes, fruity, some tar. Chocolate flavor, raisins, cocoa powder, licorice, vinous notes. some warming alcohol, caramel, biscuits, vanilla notes, some toffee. Smooth chocolate finish. Nice beer.

Bottle. Dark brown, hazy, small to average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, light roasted malt and faint coffee. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, light caramel and roasted malt, light coffee and licorice. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, light caramel, light roasted malt – faint burnt malt, light coffee and faint salty licorice with light hoppyness, light alcohol. Sweetish IS with roastiness - could use more bitterness. OK but really nothing special.

Thick and sweet with a nicely bitter end. Dark soul with black chocolate and some alcohol in the background. A bit grainy with some coffee. Quality stuff for sure.

Bottle from Douberd - many thanks! The beer pours out in a deep dark black colour with creamy low head and medium body. Aroma of chocolate and malt. Taste of mild malt, dark grains, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, nuts and earth. Very intense finish of bittersweet, dark chocolate - amazing. Enjoyed it a lot. It was highly quaffable, easy to drink and just a beer to feel good with.

33cl bottle, Mitra Nijmegen. Appealingly labeled from this small brewery that offered us a convincing Proefbrouwerij Pale Ale the night before. Pours a convincing maroni deep red with nice creme head. Aroma is blander, with only a faint whiff of coffee and roast, mirrored in a mild taste of coffee, older bitter chocolate, nice friendly green hop profile coming in from the side, and some cardboard. Turbo finish and gone. Enjoyable entry level ImpStout that needs some more oomph.
