Redbrown beer with a off-white head and medium carbonation. Some dark fruits, malts and some syrup-like sugar sweetness. Really well drinkable for these heavy tastes.

Tap @ Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Pours a dark auburn reddish brown with a beautiful looking, yellowish-brown head. Really nice looking beer. Aroma is a lot of caramel, dark fruit, dried and otherwise. Taste is a lot of dark, malty bread, dark syrup, molasses, dates, raisins, prunes. Surprisingly light with rather strong carbonation. A malt bomb, but a good one.

On tap in Amsterdam; quite nice ... poured a reddish brown. Aroma somewhat sweet. nice body, the top half of the glass was great though as it warmed the taste diminished and the alcohol popped through. Overall good, not sure if I would buy again

(Draught at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, 26 Feb 2014) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark bread, dried fruit (raisins, prunes) and toasty malt. Malty taste with dark bread, roasted malt, raisins, prunes and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and tasty doppelbock. Nice one.

Nice dark brown color, unclear brown white head... Aroma has dark malts, chocolate, some coffee... Taste is a bit too much on the sweet side for me, but for a bok it is excellent... Nice but not that special

Bottle 750 ml at home, into a snifter. ABV 7.5% Deep dark mahogany colour on the body, with a tall off-white head, thick, with very good retention. Medium lacing on the glass. Aroma of grains, nutty, light caramel. Taste of roasted malts, malty sweetness at first, light caramel, chestnut, some hints of spices on the finish. A touch of bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium to medium thick on the body, good carbonation. Overall a decent bock, smooth, goes down fast, and without being something extra ordinary is still very enjoyable.

On tap at Arendsnest. Clear red pour with thin lacy white head. Aroma of caramel, light toasted malt notes, fruity, much more on the belgian dubbel side of things, compared to Ijsselbock. Taste is sweet, caramel, boozy fruits, cherry, vanilla, spicy belgian yeast. Palate is full bodied with strong carbonation. Good, but a bit tiresome.
