omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 21, 2002 Bottled. Chesntut brown. Big huge grapefruity cascade hop aroma. Rather sweet and really full bodied, but dominated by intense hoppiness. A very american style barley wine with a lingering hop bitter finish. Fukito (595), Buenos Aires, Argentina Apr 6, 2007 Tap at Arendsnest, march 07. Pretty strong "C" hop aroma and a nice toffee touch with some pineapples, pepper and strange whisky ending. Deep, profound, bittersweet flavor, tons of different tones and a great juicy ending. Excellent. Medium to heavy MF, dangerously drinkable though. Amazing strong ale. Ober (400), Best, Netherlands Mar 7, 2008 It’s a hazy dark orange colored beer. It has a solidly beige head. It stays for a long time. Aromas of fruit, very hop bitter and touches of caramel. The taste goes from soft to bitter. Also a nice tintillating, a little dry taste in the back. Taste stays for a long time. A very good Dutch beer in an American style. sayravai (3183), Helsinki, Finland Dec 28, 2006 Updated: Jan 27, 2008(Bottled, 9.8% ABV) Deep, dark ruby red with a thick, lacy and partly lasting head. A very delicious, strongly hoppy and liquourish, strawberry-sweetish aroma. Aromatic-hoppy, malty and lightly grainy flavor with dried fruit and well-hidden, yet warming alcohol. Medium to full-bodied, low-carbonated, slicky-rough palate. A very enjoyable and balanced, deliciously hoppy barley wine. I wish all Dutch beers were like this (well, it was Belgian, after all :P)! Sammy (3135), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 3, 2008 A unique barkeywine, with the aroma akin to an English old ale, with citrus from Cascade hops, yet only moderately hoppy. An expirey date of December 15 2007 yet no matter. Pours grapefruity with lots of hanging lace. A medium to full mouthfeel, very smooth. A complexity of mild tastes: caramel, grapefruit of course, tropical fruit, sugar, yeast. One of the best barleywines I have tasted. Alcohol hits the nose, and is warming.
Thank you Absumaster.
