Countbeer (4065) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUN 9, 2013
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium to smaller sized, pretty vast and slowly changing creamy light vanilla ish colored foamy head on top of an almost clear to light hazy red orange to ruby ish colored beer. Looks good. Aromas of hops, flowers, some hop fruit, cream, barleys, light diaper, light creamy herbs and milk/lactose. Flavours of barleys, cream, some hop fruits, good and growing bitterness, light dry, light vinous, spices, yeast, creamy herbs, creamy hay and creamy grains. Aftertaste is a mix of barley malts, spices, dryness, grains and (bitter) fruit. Low carbo, soft creamy thicker mouthfeel, good medium to lightly fuller body and an oily texture. A lingering bitterness and a firm dryness, not bad but expected just a bit more from this beer...

Nose is lovely. Brown sugar, toffee, apples, slight brandy, undercut with a touch of bread. Taste leads with a lot of hops befitting an American style barley wine; good herbal tones, with spice and pepper leading to a moderate resin which drops away into brown sugar, grape, a touch of cola and toffee in the finish. Mouthfeel is slick. A very nice barley wine which delivers on the premise.

Stubby 330 ml bottle, poured into a snifter at home. ABV 9.2% Pours a deep red to almost light brown colour on the body, with one finger of off-white head sitting on top, thick, with average retention but with nice formed lacing around the glass. Aroma is fruity with all kind of fruits and lots of amarillo hops. What stands oout is mandarine and oranges, coming from the hops, along with light grapefruit and cookies. Very nice taste, quite sweet but without being sickening. Mandarines, citrus fruits, hops. The alcohol very well hidden, it doesn’t feel like a 9+ ABV. Light bitterness on the finish, with good duration. The body is a bit thin considering the alcohol level, something that raises the drinkability factor to even higher levels. The low carbonation helps too. Overall very tasty and highly drinkable. Another good one from SNAB.

Bottle. Quite nice indeed. Lots of piney hop-sappy sort of flavours coming through. Pine and also lychee fruit come through in the flavour. The yeast character remains quite Belgian for me, slightly citric. Warming alcohol in the finish is not too over bearing which is good. Good stuff.

Bottle@Home. Sweet, fruity and floral aroma. Hazy, orange color, firm yellow head, good lace. Light sweet, very bitter, floral, grapefruit, herbal. Licorice and orange in the finish. Sticky almost syrupy mouthfeel and alcohol well hidden. Quite complex yet still well drinkable beer.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting : Poured an amber color with off white head. The aroma was hoppy with earthy spice, slight pine. The taste was a fruity with lots of hops and alcohol. Nice carbonated feel on the tongue.

ante (3374) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 29, 2007
Bottled. Hazy reddish amber with a dense and thich beige foam. Sweaty grapfruity hops in the aroma with notes of caramel, fudge, dried fruit and ash. Flavour starts dense and malty sweet of dried fruits, brown sugar but finishes really bitter of grapefruity and orangey hops.

On tap at ‘t Arendsnest, Amsterdam.
Cloudy dark amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, fruity alcoholic nose. Sweet fruity orangey hoppy taste with notes of yeast and spices. Alcohol is very noticable, and the finish is dry hoppy alcoholic. 9.2%.
