BrandUP (10), USA Apr 22, 2008 One of my favorite! The first Dutch IPA.
Brewed with USA hops (Cascade). grapefruit and bitter. Dryhopping Borresteijn (587), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 12, 2008 On tap @ Arendsnest, several times. I love this beer. Golden orange/copper coloured beer, nice white head. Aroma of hops, pine and grapefruit, some malts. Flavour is fantastic, sweet fruits and hop bitterness, grapefruit, malts. Soft mouthfeel, highly drinkable. Since the shortage of American hops it tastes less bitter, making it less good. Still one of my favourites. Fukito (595), Buenos Aires, Argentina Apr 6, 2007 Tap at Arendsnest, march 07. Piney, citric, pineapple and a full ruity repertoy aroma. Deep, bitter, pineapple, peachy flavor with nice, mineral, salty finnish. Medium to light MF, begins dry, ends dry. Refreshing and satisfying. Lively polished shinning amber color with a nice white head that leaves lacing. An excellently crafted, flawless, APA. jerohen (1479), Bussum, Netherlands Oct 22, 2004 Updated: Aug 21, 2007Orange-red coloured, initailly beautiful thick head. Very hoppy and fruity aroma. Very pleasant bitterness, compensated with some malts and little sourness. Great easy to drink beer. Sampled in a PINT blind-tasting session Tried this beer next to a real American Pale Ale (Doggie Style Pale Ale). Compared with the American brew, this one is more fruity and way less hoppy. Not as impressive as i initailly thought. bierkoning (4933), La Tropica, Netherlands Mar 18, 2003 Updated: Jul 4, 2007Bottle. Strong citrusaroma. Dark orange color, small frothy head. Hopbitter, citric flavor, almost oily in its bitterness. Rather thin beer with a long citric hopbitter finish. Lovely pale ale, more Belgian than British because of its tartness.
Tap at ’t Arendsnest: flowery hops and grapefruit in the aroma. Thin. Firm hopbitter flavor with grapefruit and red berries."Cascade hops", says barman Robin. Long flowery and earthy hopbitter aftertaste with red berries. The rating is well deserved.
