The power is in the aftertaste where you get the nice Sinterklaas and Christmas flavors. Warming. At the Winterbierfestival in Gouda.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 erickok (802) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JAN 3, 2012
Misty brown with a big bubbly yellow head that lasts as a frothy layer. Cloves, cookie dough, apple pie and resin. Some more dried sticky fruit later. Very tasty, rich sweet flavour. Medium, fine body with pleasantly low-ish carbonation. Develops from light sweet start to a warming, balanced finish. Very much autumn, matching the current weather conditions this winter. Would work well with sweet or savory pie or similar food. Or with cookies. Starts up great against the Belgian classics (like Affligem Noel). Yummy. Don?t understand the Barley Wine classification on this site. (75cl bottle)
