4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Damico (1920) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 25, 2011
The saison pours beautiful golden in color with an orange hue and decent white head. The aroma is my favorite part - big notes of smooth lemon and Belgian yeast, so pleasant in the nose. The flavor is similar, but more muted on the citrus with a dry, crisp finish. The saison yeast notes are welcomed.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Doodler (301) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 13, 2011
Bomber shared with Forgetfu and Ratman. Love saisons, so excited to try this one.. Poured into a Bruery tulip. Color is a golden yellow with a decent foamy head. Aromas of citrus, straw and tell-tale yeasts. Flavors were a bit fruity at first with a nice funky spice throughout. While not a Fantome, it had some nice malts and a solid earthy, yeastiness to it. Well carbed with a dry floral finish. A great summer brew - thanks Bill....

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 TAR (2346) - Lafayette, Colorado, USA - APR 3, 2011
Draft @ brewpub: Opaque apricot with a straw cast. Broken cap of foam maintains a creamy white fringe. Crowded nose of banana, doughy yeast, white pepper, floral hops, orange peel, gently toasted malt, plasticlike phenols, lemon pulp, and bubblegum. Hint of sulfur. Soft carbonic pinpricks. Expansively effervescent. Flavors initially unfold with a dry herbal (aniseed) twinge and a plasticlike yeast bite. White-pepper zing matches the succulent floral hops, though notes of unripe banana and doughy yeast muddle the bright nuances by imparting considerable flab and heft. Tones of coriander generate considerable heat which intensifies the alcohol and yeast-driven astringency. Bubblegum exceeds complementary levels and overpowers things by emphasizing the underattenuated state of the body. Also becomes progressively sweet and duller by the sip, with an overabundance of honeydew, pear, and overripe peach obscuring the delicate brightness of the hops. Juicy splash of mandarin orange in the center yields to the overt weight of the suspended yeast. Finishes floral with hops which are checked by a honey-dabbed toasted hay sweetness adorned with white pepper. Certainly has some potential, but as is it generally is more of the same when it comes to American-brewed Saison…comes off as unfinished with its yeasty, banana-laden body. Nice effort, but ultimately ho hum.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Tap @ The Sushi Bar McCall, ID: pours hazy yellow, bright white head. Nose of zesty yeast and citrus peel, maybe its the lemongrass? Nice and peppery too, lively with a touch of tart, sweet esters but a dry nose. Delicious saison with a good balance. Some funk in this would push this great beer into the epic category.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 aracauna (2855) - Georgia, USA - JUN 10, 2009
Nice spice in the aroma mixes with a pleasant funk. The flavor is a little boring compared to the aroma, but still a pleasant beer.
