Formerly: Indian Paintbrush Pilsner

The Monarch, eight point bull elk is the King of forest in the Tetons. Pilsners are the beers of Kings, originating in Plzen, Czech Republic. They are light colored lager beers whose flowery hop aroma is followed by a rich, malty sweetness ending with a firm bitterness. Mass produced American beers say they are of this style but have extremely lightened malt and hop characteristics. Our Monarch Pilsner is a traditional style European pilsner, brewed with 100% pilsner malt. Hopping with German lineage hops produces evident bitterness as well as a crisp finish. Monarch Pilsner is a signature beer of Cory Buenning.

Beautiful looking pils, nice high fluffy head, pale golden with lazy carbonation. Aroma is pure malt / grains, taste come son as bread/ crackers /biscuits, with a hint of the hops and some dryness at the finish.

Very light gold pour, with a quickly fading white head. Very light pilsner with little flavor and little anything. Easy drinker, but not a lot there.

Crystal clear light yellow. Modest but lasing white head. Soft pale malt aroma. Slight noble hop notes. Classic pilsner malt flavors, a touch of corn.cereal, and slightly soapy bittering hops. Not bad.

From 12oz can to pilsner glass. Pour is a nice yellow, thick white foamy head. Nose is malty, light hop, bready. Taste is sweet, light bodied, slight bitter finish. Finishes carbonated on the palate. Nice enjoyable pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Newest canned offering from Snake River. Sadly, no dating that I can find. Cold, it pours a clear straw yellow with a 2 finger head of foam. The smell is on the light side. I get some of the hallertau hops that they used for this German style, that has that nice snappy aroma you’d expect. The malt adds a bit of earthiness and some light grain. The taste is good. The German malt used brings nice tasty flavours of grain and earthy malt but the hops come through a bit weak. No snap or kick from them, which is something I look for when I buy a brew called a German style Pils. Warming up, I don’t see an improvement in that regard. The mouthfeel is just fine. Drinkability is good but overall, I kind of expected just a wee bit more. Still, maybe I’m judging it too harshly, or not. I’ve been drinking a lot of Deschutes Pine Mountain Pils so maybe that’s the reason I’m being hard on Monarch.

Pours pale gold with a small white head. Light floral aromas and hints of citrus and grain. Decent body. Not bad for a pilsner, but pretty forgettable overall.

Bright straw golden..beautiful head and lacing.. Clean pils malt... Slight DMS... Not quite as hoppy as most german pils... Incredibly drinkable.
