4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Best by 09 18 11, from the new cans which just arrived in town.
A medium golden colour, lots of foam, ditto for the lacing.
Citrus and pine dominate the smell...suggesting some pretty strong bitter notes when it comes to the taste.
Yeah, it does lean towards the bitter side. Grapefruit with some notes of pine bring plenty of the bitter, the malt, from what I can tell, brings a light, very light bit of sweetness that doesn’t really bring any balance but..what the hops are doing is working for me for this American IPA. I’ve been enjoying the beer on draught lately, and in the past, at the Old Chicago in town and the beer in the can does not disappoint at all. A very well done and easy drinking IPA. I give it a firm thumbs up for the draught and in the can.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- pours a clear gold with a white head and terrific lacing. S- some usual suspects bit they burst from the glass. Great citrus from bitter orange, lemon zest to some passion fruit. These tickle then back of the nose especially towards the end. Dough and cracker malts are abundant with some rich and sweet smelling wet pine. M- body seems light for this beer but it has a good tackiness to it. T- citrus comes through again with the orange and ruby red grapefruit leading the way. Sourdough bread and pine mingle in the middle with some mineral and sharp grassy quality. Minimal amounts of earth in there towards the clean and quenching end.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured up on tap at the brewpub where there’s a clear copper body that supports a nice looking off white head. The aroma offers up a mix of grapefruit, a dash of pine hops and faint sweet maltiness. The taste begins with firm up front pine hop bitterness that’s blended with bitter tangelo and grapefruit like citrus hops. It builds into mild malt and malt sweetness to midway that helps enhance a modest citrus hop flavor note. This is a nice bitter hop forward brew where there’s still some balance to go along with the firm, late ’90’s feel to the hop profile.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Excellent prototypical American IPA. Nice piney nose. Bitter grapefruit and citrus flavors balanced nicely with the slightly sweet malt backbone. Deep orange color. Medium bodied. Very good beer.

Pours a golden ale with a fine, broken sheet of whites. Smells good and dank, some grapefruit, some BO, some resin; a little sweet malt in the background. Flavor is nice and balanced with a vitamin character. Sweet tangerines, some lemon rind, some papayas and a good crackery malt. Medium bodied with light on moderate carb. Good stuff.

Can via trade courtesy of BuckeyeBoy, tks Jeremy.

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a fizzy white head. Tastes hoppy, sweet, like orange, pine, musk. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like musky, sweaty, pine and light citrus.

Pour out of 12 oz can, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big lemon, earth, spice, hints of pine, touch of tropical fruit in there as well. Taste is a mix of tropical fruit, lemon, orange, hints of biscuit, bread, slight earth, finishing with some spice. Pretty nice.
