A Vienna style Lager with caramel flavor balanced by an earthy German hop aroma. "Smoooooooth!"

I earnestly hope that I got a bad batch of this stuff. Yuck! all around...and I’m very easy to please. The head is sorry and overly bubbly, the appearance is more like an amber beer. But most of all the taste is terribly wrong. It’s stringy, metallic and glassy. The worst part is the finish. Not only is it long, but it lingers with a distinct taste of wet and rotting cardboard (at least that what I think that would taste like). Had high hopes for a local...but it just didn’t work out.

Bottled: pours a golden color with a malty copper taste to it. First beer I had after I got off the Tetons, and it was exactly what I needed with a fresh pizza for lunch.

On draft at the brewpub which displayed a seemingly endless amount of flags commemorating this beer’s gold medals at GABF, so I had to try it. Pours a clear and light amber. The aroma was very light malt. The taste was full of a rich malt, light hops, and a almost dry finish. Enjoyable for sure.

2008 Bottle - Aroma of malty bread and slight dried fruit, taste is light sweet and bitter, really nothing other than that, more full bodied that other lagers, but nothing to write home about...finishes with a funk...

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a meduim off white head. Aroma of malt, biscuit dough, toffee and citrus. Tastes of caramel, dough, and citrus. Has a hint of hops in the finish.

Pours orangey, fizzy head. Flavor is thin, fruity, cider. Bitterness is OK. Everything about this felt thin.

Pours apricot in color with a cream head that dies slow. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes a little caramel and some fruit sweetness. Finishes with a minor hop bite. As balanced and subtle as a brew gets. Light and crisp in the mouth. Goes down smooth and easy.

Pours copper with long lasting, almost meringue like head. Aroma is a bit on the burnt side of toasty. The flavor is a bit better than some lagers. Has character but nothing distinctive. Good round palate.

Thanks Kyzr for the bottle. Golden orange color. Very thin white head. Definite grassy and spicy aroma with some fruity malt sweetness too. Maybe its apples? Toasted caramel malts, some sweetness and an awesome earthy crisp finish. Has a cider like quality to it too. A tasty beer.

Poured a light amber/orange with a light, small foamy head. The nose was sweet with toasted carmel malt and autumn-fruity hops. The flavor starts with generous amounts of toasted carmel malts and is matched by slightly citric, apple/orange fruity hops. The sweetness of the malt gives way to the bitterness of the hops by the time the finish rolls around. This is one of the hoppier marzens that I’ve tasted. It seems to be a cross between a marzen and a pale ale. A fine, very drinkable lager.
