Bottle > Rendezvous, Jackson Hole, WY. Good solid lager. Nice sweetish backbone. Would be a good daily drinker.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden-caramel color, hint of some spice (cinnamon-nutmeg?) in the nose. Slight lacing, very smooth. A little bit of malty sweetness going on at the finish. Nice session beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a nice amber/copper color with a large white head that slowly fades. Taste is of roasted malt and caramel, with a slightly bitter finish. Aroma is much the same, except hops can be detected. Overall, this is a nice, easy to drink beer that is rather enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Keeping in mind that it was preternaturally hot and dry when I was sampling this, the huge maltiness of this brew turned me off after a bit. It is powerful, rich, toasty stuff, and I’d possibly love the hell out of it in November, but it actually got cloying on me out on the June prairie.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(GABF 2004) Malty. I could not taste the use of good german/vienna malt. Average brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
awsome looking in the glass. deep brown color with a rocky head that peaks well above the rim. the toasty malts of this beer do little to live up to the incredible apperance.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pretty, orange color; smallish, mostly fizzy head. Pleasant but weak aroma, with citrus, floral, and bready notes. Tastes of citrus (mainly orange) and breadiness. Medium-thin body; clean.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
cloudy butterscotch color, phlegmatic head. some residual head clung to the side of my glass like tiny barnacles. this was my hometown brew for years, and from the tap i considered it edgy and brash. now, far from the shadows of the tetons, i finally rate a bottle. the distance has mellowed it a bit--tho perhaps too much ’cause there’s also a note of very slight sourness. otherwise: spicy applesauce woody, wheat bread, autumn grasses and drying flowers. easy smooth palate, adequate bitter finish. not as sweet as a great lakes elliot ness. almost a "grand" beer--and that’s not a term we use lightly in the environs of the grand teton.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2004 RERATE: This beer deserves a much higher rating than I originally gave it (3.5), I had it on tap recently, it was very good, and subsequent bottled brews are really growing on me. It's a simple brew that's very smooth, malty, caramelly, lightly hopped, and quite drinkable, AND one hellova session beer. I am more than pleased, and somewhat impressed with it. It's showing up more and more in my fridge.....

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Now when I look this up and it references this as a Vienna lager it makes sense. Nice slightly caramel aroma, nice malt sweetness and a balanced finish. Good job.
