3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rondphoto (983) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - APR 21, 2013
Opaque black with a bubbly brown head, streaks of lace.Taste begins with a clean toasted malt that swallows as easily as water. Deep in the palate, black coffee and a touch of chocolate assert themselves, lingering bitterly through the finish. Begins like a good British stout, finishes like an American flavored stout. Recommended.

Molasses colored beer with brownish root beer style head. Rich nose with hints of chocolate and black licorice accompanied by roasted accents. Taste is slightly sweet up front and then builds in bitterness with underlying flavors of coffee and brown sugar. There’s a lot going on here. A good stout, definitely one to savor.

Cans can be good for beer, but they don’t look as sexy as bottles. Fortunately for Zonker it looks plenty good when poured. Super dark, big frothy head that slowly fades down to a thin tan cap. Overwhelming chocolate aroma when poured balances as hthe beet its for a bit with more of a ’beer’ scent. Definately easy to drink, but does have a slightly longer after taste than I might like.

In short: A full bodied stout with a bit of everything. Good.
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed approximately one month after receiving the bottle from Doodler, thanks a lot Scott
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head.
In long: Nose is burnt toasts and coffee with notes of cigarette butt. Body is smooth, semi-thick and a bit viscous with a soft carbonation. Taste brings up a lot of unsuspected black liquorice, vanilla extract, cookies, burnt toasts, coffee, some molasses, oat sensation, solid presence of herbal hops with a minty character. The flavors are a bit aggressive however the beer remains easy to drink. Quite filling for a ‘little’ stout. Nothing won me over here but I can’t find anything wrong with it, this is a good flavorful stout. That’s the description I can give for this beer, and I’m really trying my best when I rate a beer because if there are two things I that I’m really ashamed of it is when one of my beer rating uses a bad grammaration or a word I just made up.

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Hard roasted malts, a little bit of sweetness, and lighter notes of ash and old coffee grounds. Not bad.
