Can from Brennan’s. Pours an opaque black with a brown head leaving nice drops of lacing. Aroma has cocoa powder, roasted malts, licorice and coffee. Taste is of sweet chocolate, roasted and burnt malts, some lactose and faint coffee with a tanginess. Smooth and dry. Finishes sweet with some bitterness, and a bit short. This is pretty good; smooth, tasty and an easy drinker.

Pours very dark brown with minimal tan head and okay lacing. Smells of malts, molasses, and chocolate. Tastes of roasted malt, barley, molasses, black licorice, and some bitter chocolate. I was expecting better based on the ratings here.
