A rich, well balanced Foreign style Stout with a generous amount of roasted barley. Complex hop sequencing creates superbly balanced flavor.

Great appearance, pours like motor oil and has a thick foamy grey head. Aroma is all chocolate with hints of coffee bean. Medium body with strong roasted flavors and coffee. Not bad.

Eclipse black color. Medium sized tan foamy head. Aroma is chocolate, vanilla and sweet. A medium bodied stout. Malts are very roasty, chocolate and coffee. Hops are slightly bitter. There is a separate overall bitterness to this beer that I can’t quite figure out. It is kind of harsh and roasty at the same time, and there is a touch of cardboard as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a touch of cardboard.

Opaque appearance, good enduring head of mocha foam. Malty, molasses aroma, cocoa and vanilla. Creamy intro, vanilla bean, chocolaty with roasted coffee, sweet balance (lactose?), strong bitterness in the finish.

Cask conditioned at the Jackson pub on my birthday, 7/16/04. Flat black body with a slightly off white head arrived at the correct temp., slightly cool. Aromas of chocolate, toasted malt, and coffee rolled out of it. Huge mouthfeel. Lots of chocolate and a little coffee with it along with a pretty hoppy but never biting touch. long finish with very nice coffee notes the whole way through. Almost too rich at times. Kind of reminded me of Expo stout from Bells.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2006 Rerate: Mild, malty chocolate aroma; moderate-full bodied; roasty malts and espresso flavor; milky palate, though with a fairly bitter, lingering finish. Nice stout.

Looks the way I like beer to look: dark, almost black body with a tan, frothy head. Dark chocolate and roasted coffee in the nose with some overtones of citrus. Mouthfeel was medium, smooth, a little oily. Flavor was semi-sweet chocolate and roasted coffee. A respectable stout.

black purple with a thin quickly discipating tan head. Nose is bitter with some malts but in general it is quite fiant. The taste is mostly bitter with a sharp kick right off the bat then calms down to be more malty and stubtle. THe body is nothing too exciting. Pretty darn average for a stout.

Great Stout!! Pours thick and black with a small but long lasting head. Pleasant bitterness with a big roasted flavor made this a nice companion with a bleu cheese filet on the grill.
