2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Nose of muffled herbal hops and some fungal notes, almost like a British bitter or pale. Flavour sort of confirms this, bringing out fungal notes and herbal hops. There’s a pretty substantial astringency on the finish as well. Not my thing at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Light amber color, hazy, with compact head. Solid and smooth IPA, the malt profile is a bit cereally, the hop is a bit resiny. Either a bit old school, or not completely fresh.
But it’s a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft - Light grapefruit and some peel. Clear gold with a decent white head. Bitter, sweet and lots of Mandarin with a syrupy note. Not bad.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a half finger of head on a cloudy straw body.
The aroma is nil... maybe a little caramel.
The taste is a thicker bitterness, lots of malt and sweetness.
The texture is sticky.
Not that great as an IPA, it has an okay malty side though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Chuck’s. From notes. Pours dark amber. Resinous aroma, backed up by caramel and bread. Taste: Light caramel sweetness, bitter pine finish that lasts. Medium body, creamy and oily texture. All around, not bad.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours like a brown ale almost - so dark. Sheet of light tan foam. Smells of english, almost winter warmer malts, some hops are there, but reserved. They smell tea/herbal. Taste is bitter with some herbal character and some cardboard. Flavor seems pretty one dimensional - bitter malt. Medium bodied with hi carb and a dry finish. Too bad, I’ve heard good things about this brewery.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Serving: from tap at Snipes Mountain Microbrewery and Restaurant
Aroma: moderate, cat piss-like hoppy aroma.
Appearance: very small, white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, dark-yellow body.
Taste: moderately bitter initial flavor and moderately sour, citrusy finish with long duration.
Palate: medium body with dry texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: excellent. Great aroma, well-balanced unique taste. I’d like to drink this again.
