A full bodied, dark ale the color of coals burning low, with a touch of roast and smoke. Filled throughout with bright piney hops and dark earthy undertones, it captures the essence of an adventure in the winter woods.

Draught at St. Augustineís, Vancouver; 6.3% ABV
Dark brown color, close to black, with beige head. Not too dry, but definitively they had a heavy hand with roasty ashy malts; and itís wisely spiked with diacetyl; nuts, dark caramel, blah blah.
Deeply unpleasant.

On tap at St Augustineís in Vancouver. A very dark brown beer with beige head. Nose is very faint..of nothing in particular. Pleasant taste if one is partial to traditional brown ales, else not much of interest here. 3.2.

On tap at St Augustineís, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is subtle, with toasted malt. Flavour brings out metallic toasted malt notes and an unpleasant astringency on the finish. Four beers by Snipes Mountain tonight thatíve seemed off - something is wrong here. This isnít good.
