Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Mar 9, 2006 Hazy amber colour. Fruity aroma with some caramel. Light, balanced character. Some berryish esters and light hops. Decent. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2007 22oz bottle acquired in trade with Larry Pitonka (thanks!). Poured a medium and clear golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of citrus, light caramel, and lightly floral. Tastes of citrus, light caramel, and toasted malts. I thought this one had a decent sweet to bitter balance. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 21, 2006 Draught Golden-orange; head gone. Still very hoppy, with a good sweetsmelling malt backing. Sweet-ish beer with soem hoppy uplifting. Seems like Belgian white candi sugar is used, or/and a very slight amount of maize. Bit toasted. Creamy texture, velvety, even when the body is rather light. Pleasing drinking beer. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Aug 22, 2007 Bottle: Gold bronze color, light white head, nice lacing. Nose of spicy light hops and sweet earthy malts. The flavor is nice and pleasantly hopped, light body or malt intensity. Citrusy though. The finish is balanced, nice beer, tasty throughout. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Jul 23, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Fruity malty floral hoppy aroma with some hints of citrus. Malty hoppy grapefruit flavor. Long maly hoppy bitter grapefruit finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Apr 25, 2008 Nice medium citrus aroma. LIght amber color with a creamy beige head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. A fair balance of light citrus and lightly roasted malt. Not all that bitter, but the finish is bitter. Makes me think more ESB than APA, but the folks over the pond wouldn’t agree. Whatever it is, it is a really tasty ale. Smooth.
