| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2008 Bottle: Hazy deep copper is topped by a dense off white film of head. Spicy in the nose with some mild ginger, a touch of pine needle, thick caramel, and some dark fruit notes. Nice fluffy and chewy feel. Notes of toasted caramel, ginger, mild spruce and other spices are evident in the flavor. There’s an herbal bitterness on the back to dry it out. Although it doesn’t feel very Belgian, it’s well balanced and tasty. ratman197 (3191), Arvada, Colorado, USA

This is an interesting combination of an ipa-like beer with a sweet Belgian ale. It is unusual and moderately successful. Extra poitns for experimentation.
