carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA May 3, 2008 light orange, clear body with thin white head, apricot and orange on the nose with a candied sugar taste that fades to some nice bitter finish. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA May 1, 2008 Bottle. Rich caramel, dark cream colored head. Estery, bubblegum, yeast, light banana, and fruit aroma. Yeasty, spicy, slight bibblegum, slight mineral flavor. Medium bodied. Spice, light yeast, light breadiness lingers. BallyLoser (134), Redmond, Washington, USA Apr 21, 2008 On tap. fruity aroma, typical Spring blend. Nice amber colour, no overly strong yeast taste. Mild fruity finish. Better than the average Spring, but still not a spring fan. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 20, 2008 22oz bottle. pours clear amber with off white head. nose of cloves and florals. flavors are sweet biscuit, caramel, cloves, coriander, red fruit. smooth body. a bit over spiced but tasty. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Apr 17, 2008 Updated: Sep 3, 2008Update: I had a version of this on tap that was a coriander coctail. Poured like brown mud, thick and opaque, nose/favor everything was coriander. Almost tea/health drink like in a way, i’m not sure what was up, but aweful.
Pours aber with a red hue, soft off-white head. Sweet fruity nose, belgian yeast esters, tropical fruits and coriander. Sweet fruity malts up front, dried pineapple flavor, softer in the finish, more coriander comes through. Not as dry as most, but a solid beer. pantani (1894), Salinas, California, USA Mar 20, 2008 Deep amber with a quickly dissapating off white head. Aroma is very fruity, pear, apricots, and strong yeast also, reminds me of my car air freshener. Taste is somewhat fruity, not as much as the aroma, bubblegum, yeast, light brown sugar. Pretty good stuff. chokmah33 (115), Bremerton, Washington, USA Mar 19, 2008 Aromas of white pear, finger nail polish remover, and herbal smell, like dry grass. That sweet yeasty Belgian musk, plus the coriander.
Texture is creamy then gets sticky at the end. Palate is crisp, slightly astringent.
Tastes like orange candy and some significant malts. Enough hops to throw some bitter into the mid and finish
You can taste the coriander most in the finish.
A Significantly Spicey Belgian. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 11, 2008 I enjoyed this year’s even more than years past; not that I didn’t like it before. Bright amber with medium head that sticks around. Light hop aroma with a bit of yeast. Full taste of floral hops, spices, belgian yeast, cloves and well balanced with malt. Bitter finish. A bit harsh at the end. Fairly thick and low carbonation. Love it.
