3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the brewery. Coppery dark amber with no head and minimal wispy lace. Gently restrained candi sugar nose. Medium body, overcarbonated to perfection (truly perfect--itís way fizzy but somehow itís palatable in small doses). Floral, candi, candied fruit notes all show up on the mid-palate, along with some bubble gum. Light candied pine finish. Rough, raw, and unsubtle, and certainly not sessionable, but interesting for sure. Looking forward to trying it in bottles this year; canít believe I havenít before now.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2005 Rerated 2004 Bottle pours deep orange, cloudy, large off-white froamy head, with fairly attractive lacing. † Lots going on in the aroma; apricots, flora, spices, slightly yeastie, and citrusy. † Up front its sweet and malty, slightly citrusty with hints of corriander. † Fairly bold body, with a medium to full mouthfeel. † Finishes a bit estery, lots more orange peel, and quite bready. † Better this year than last. † Along with Wildcat, one of the better Snoqualmie brews.

Golden pour with a nice head. The aroma is super fruit and spicy. I got lots of fruit loops, orange, coconut, lemon, grass. Similar notes in the flavor, fruity, spicy, grassy, a good deal of coriander. Sweet, spicy finish with a touch of alcohol warmth.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle. Clear amber color with a reddish hue and a light tan head. Strong smell of coriander and grains. Medium bodied with a frothy mouthfeel. Taste has lots of coriander and spiced tea herbalness with a bready biscuit malt flavor.
The herbs and spices dominate the flavor here.

[1548-20080725] 1pt6floz bottle. Lemon grass hops and heavy yeast aroma. Hazy, dark orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Full grains and wet woody yeast flavour has a hint of spice. Boozy full body. Interesting but has a weird spice note.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Was forewarned that I was ordering a bottle of perfume and curiosity won out. I enjoyed this beer, which was billed as the Grand Crue on tap at Duck Island in Seattle. Orange-amber hue is warm and friendly and fronds of lace are nice. Nose is soapy and mild. Taste is quite the array of berries, perfume and hop. A good soft mouthfeel. An odd and entertaining beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Picked up a 22-oz bomber via trade with 5000. Pours a hazy golden orange brew with a nice thick and lumpy off-white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of multi-grain golden malt, coriander, yeast and a touch of lemon zest. Taste is medium to full bodied, with a spicy golden grain malt flavor with coriander, cinnamon, candi sugar and yeast. Finish has a semi-sweet and thick texture aftertaste that lingers after the finish. Quite a coriander bomb that both refreshing and memorable.
