COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This lip-smacking dark ale is mellow and malty. The aroma is reminiscent of bittersweet dark chocolate and the caramel and roast malt flavors are exceptionally smooth. Medium bodied, with a slightly sweet edge but a dry finish.

Pitch black with inch of pillowy light brown foam. Aromas chocolate, toast, caramel, nuts, wintergreen. Taste is sweet with fruits, caramel up front, moving to a crisp, roasty bitter finish. Delicious - has the rich comforting sweetness of a good porter with a bit of zippy tang to it.

Superbly nice, particularly given the low ABV. Smooth. Roasty, and dry. Very flavorful -- getting a lot of coffee notes.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with an off white head. Dark roasted malt aromas. A bit watery but with nice dark roasted malt notes. Some expresso and bitter chocolate low lights. Good body and mouthfeel.

Bottle shared at the chriso 2013 pre-GBBF shindig - London. Pours brown with a light, creamy top. Nice chocolate dark malt aroma here. Light sweet flavor with some earthy bitterness, chocolate and toasted leaves. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Dry chocolate finish with bitter dirt. Tasty.

Bottle sent to me from the PNW - very nice porter. Dark brown pour - nice tan head. Nice roasted nose. Easily drinkable.

Bottle @ Chriso’s pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s brown with a small head. Toasted bread. Dark roasted coffee aromas. More cocoa. Nougat. Dark chocolate. Somewhat watery on the palate. Soft carbonation. Not a standout.

Bottle. Pours a near-black color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose has a fair amount of roasting and just a hint of unsweetened chocolate in there. Taste is light and smooth, with a little coffee bitterness coming through, and a bitter chocolate finish to it. Nice porter.

drpimento (2224) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 15, 2013
Poured aggressively at a good temperature with a smallish, foamy, tan head that soon settled to a wispy island and ring - no lace. Color is a very dark, clear mahogany. Aroma is dark roasty malt, cocoa, hint of raisin and molasses. Flavor follows nose closely, is tang and sweet up front, turning dry and bitter and finishing with cocoa sweet. Body/carbonation good if unusually warming for a 5 %er. Finish is as above, on the long side, and quite drinkable.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Dark opaque colour. Aroma is dark roasted grains, soy and nutty malt. Flavour is rye bread and soft roast and some mineral. Average.
