leems (57), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 29, 2009 22oz bottle pours a dark red/brown with a one finger white head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, flavor follows suit. This was a pretty good porter but not the best ever. I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase it but worth trying. scrizzz (986), kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 25, 2009 Very dark brown, creamy tan head. Rich mocha aroma. Creamy body, firm roast character, dry roast finish. snakeoilpete (276), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 5, 2009 Cask at Elysian’s SBW Firkin-Firkin throwdown (vs. Russian River Porter). Pours dark brown with a small frothy tan head. Weak roasty aroma. Roasty, slightly chocolaty taste. Watery mouthfeel, astringent roasty finish. Next. Ibrew2or3 (2402), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 24, 2009 Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours deep and dark with mocha head. The aroma seems earthy at first then burnt, roasty, a bit of smoke and chocolate. The taste is both good and yum with roast to burnt malts to go along with a layer of earthiness to start. Midway some chocolate surfaces. Toward the finish everything comes together in harmony and leaves a lingering chocolate, a bit of burnt malts and just a hint of smoke into the after taste. Very tasty indeed. gunhaver (1005), Tampa, Florida, USA May 24, 2009 Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Dark brown pour, big dark tan head with spotty lacing. Some chocolate in the nose, caramel, coffee roast, and some dark fruit. Flavor is big dry spicy grain with rye, coffee and some roast. Medium-bodied, tasty, and balanced. sebletitje (1499), Tampa, Florida, USA May 2, 2009 coutresy of BA trade.

TampaBrew (302), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 30, 2009 Poured black, tan head. Roasty, smokey, cocoa nose. Full bodied, charred, dark malt, slightly bitter. Good Porter. hayduke (1471), Eureka, California, USA Apr 10, 2009 This poured from the 22 oz bottle a very dark brown that let in no light and raised a light brown head with good retention and good lacing. Nose of roasted malts with chocolate, coffee, and ripe fruit. Soft creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is heavy on the coffee and the finish is dry. A very decent porter.
