Pours very dark; mine didn’t have a head on it, but I think the server let it sit for a while. Hints of smoky malts in the aroma, but not much else (it was in a shaker, of course, which may be a problem). Flavor started out decent enough (if a little weak), but finished very sour. Maybe it was sitting around too long in the keg, but I was unimpressed. glkaiser (1164), Seattle, Washington, USA

Very sweet chocolate aroma. This is an incredibly smooth porter. Reminds me of drinking french silk pie. Not much sticks out in this one though. A bit of sweetness, and very smooth. Good, but nothing special. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA

This leaves a very heavy lacing on the side of the glass. The aroma was pancake syrup along with some coffee and chocolate. The taste had some dark coffee and some milk chocolate. There is a nice smooth and slick mouthfeel with little carbonation. This is a nice porter, but could use a little more body. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2005 Deep brown body with a moderatley dark brown head, the color of wheat bread. Dusty, airy nose of charred coffee and malts and some semi-sweet wood notes. Crisp and biting smoky wood flavor up front, turning to cold coffee flavors and smoke over the middle into a dusty and parched finish, accented by a strong charred campfire wood finish. Tastes very similar to Rogue Mocha Porter.
