Nice porter. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 29, 2008 22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a short lived chocolate brown head. Smooth roasted malty and mild chocolate malty aroma. Mild acidic and roasted malty flavoured. Light chocolate note, light acidic touch into the finish. Dry and roasted malty. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA Dec 7, 2008 Pours black with a brown head. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is of rich chocolate, malt, and minimal coffee. Taste is of strong coffee and malt, with notes of super heavy chocolate, spice, rasins, and alcohol. Lingering chocolate taste. Light almost watery mouthfeel that still delivers on the taste. Very dry finish of burnt coffee and dark fruits. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 19, 2008 Bomber. Poured deep brown with a creamy cap of rich tan head. The aroma was quite delightful.. toasted semi-sweet chocolates, dry coffee, and some molasses with sweeter chocolate cake-like notes on the back.. decadent. The flavor wasn’t far off with some caramel joining the chocolate at the core.. light coffee and earthy bitterness surrounded.. treacle, soy, and more chocolate at the finish. Medium-bodied and sweet overall on the palate with a nice level of roast.. well-balanced and engaging. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 20, 2008 Overcarbonated pour fills 3/4 of the glass with head, then settles into an opaque black with a thinner airy, spotty-lacing beige head. Aroma of semi-sweet, but mostly roasted malts with a touch of piny hops and dark chocolate. Body starts somewhat fizzy, but has good sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts well balanced with some mild earthy hop bitterness before a crisp, roasty finish with good lingering dark chocolate character. A very nice robust porter. troopie (848), USA Sep 6, 2008 Draught. Poured black with thin fast dissipating head. Roasty aroma with a much mediciney aroma. Roasty flavour with bittersweet chocolate and coffee flavours. More coffee notes in the finish.
