A very drinkable porter but nothing special to remember it by. I found it rather simplistic

Little aroma, thin body, very chocolatey... like Hershey's syrup. Little hops, sweet finish.

Nearly black with a brownish creamy head. Tasted good at first but after a while it just didn’t seem that great.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 thewolf (9860) - Kolding, DENMARK - DEC 31, 2008
Bottle at Madsberg 2008 Tasting. Pours light brown red with a small, cappucino, film head. Aroma is lightly roasted, some definite rubber and chocolate. Highish carbonation, a bit weak mouthfeel. Flavour has coffee, is rather dry and roasted. The rubber is in the flavours as well, and really detracts for me.

Tap @ Parkway. Deep brown pour with ruby highlights and a short tan head with good retention and leaving minimal lace. Nose is chocolate with a hint of cinnamon developing as it warms. Light body with moderate carbonation. Baking chocolate, toffee, pumpernickel and slightly tart. Finish is medium, bitter and chocolatey without much sweetness. Too light, not very complex.

Dark almost opaque brown color, small steady creamy beige head. Light toasted notes. Light-bodied. Flavor is slightly tart. Roasted malts, coffee and caramel. Light and maybe not in top condition.

Cask at Elysian’s SBW Firkin-Firkin throwdown (vs. Russian River Porter). Pours dark brown with a small frothy tan head. Weak roasty aroma. Roasty, slightly chocolaty taste. Watery mouthfeel, astringent roasty finish. Next.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - FEB 8, 2003
Certainly nothing special. After the Perseus Porter, I was hoping I'd hit another NW porter jackpot; unfortunately, no such luck. This beer was not only nondescript, but had several negative attributes. It was overbittered and had too much of a hop flavor and aroma for a porter. It was also watery and very astringent--not a good combo. There are a fair amount of malt flavors but they are certainly more simple than complex, and there were a few notes that were borderline offensive.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BarePaw (148) - Pullman, Washington, USA - OCT 20, 2003
There is little aroma. The flavor is weak. The palate feel is watery. It is not the worst porter I've tried, but it is definately not the best.
