alagnak (292), Littleton, Colorado, USA Oct 21, 2009 Bomber from bvc. Nice citric hops on the nose, a little orange and lemon zest and a light roastiness of all things. Upfront is some caramel malt and biscuit, which fades quickly to the citric hops and a little resin in the crisp finish. Super-drinkable stuff, this. Thanks, brandon. Nena (116), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 20, 2009 Orange amber with a large white head. Aroma is tangerine citrus and some cedar. Flavor is sweet caramel malt up front, then cedar, grapefruit, and a dry bitter finish. One of my favorite inexpensive IPAs. mettkea (6), Minnesota, USA does not count Oct 1, 2009 22oz bottle brought back from Seattle. Nice hoppy aroma with a very strong presence of malty. The taste starts off very malty but ends with a nice citrus hop burst. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 30, 2009 Great fruity malty aroma. Nice look. Flavor is fairly malty but good. Another nice beer from these guys. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 28, 2009 22oz. Bottle: Faint aroma of hops, earth, and a hint of caramel malts. Poured amber/orange in color with a medium-sized, rocky, off-white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small, medium, large, and huge-sized particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium bitter. Tastes of hops, resin, light earth, and light malts. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Hop, earth, and resin finish is bitter and slightly dry. DuffManSW (283), Riverside, California, USA Sep 24, 2009 Bottle thanks to BA’s Mikeandi... Pours golden orange with a fluffy off white head...Aroma is slight caramel and that is about it... Flavor on the other hand is pretty nice. Very balanced with citrus hops and a malt backbone.. Perfect body, not to thin not to thick. Good stuff. trevor211 (499), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 29, 2009 Dry hopped version on tap at Brouwer’s Hopfest ’09. Pours a dirty orange with a small head. Really nice nose - almost all hops - just enough malt to keep it from being overbearing. Full in the mouth, and sharply bitter, but not too much to handle. I wish it had a slightly greater malt contingent, but this is really nice, crisp and refreshing. Sonicdescent (372), Donora, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 18, 2009 This is a really pretty looking beer, transparent red/amber color with a very nice fluffy white head and active carbonation.
Smell is pleasant but so very small in stature that I can barely detect anything.
Taste is still there, a pretty flavorful beer for a regular IPA. A bit of bread over taken by fruity pineapple.
Mouth is thin and bubbly with a nice bitter finish.
Overall a solid but unspectacular beer.
