| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Hazy gold with a large pillowey white head. Floral pine and grapefruit arpma. Fairly complex for a single hop beer. Decent hop flavor but it doesn’t quite match the bitterness which while not huge is a little harsh. I am not so sure about Columbus alone. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Pine and grapefruit, big on the hops, sharp bitterness. The hops give off an earthy and almost gritty sensation. On first taste I didn’t think this had enough malts, but once the initial bitter shock passed the malts came through, still the underdog in this one, but kept it from feeling thin. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Big bottle. Heavy merangue head that coudl be sculpted. Amber beer. Attractive moderate hop aroma. Heavy woody hop flavour. Very aggressive. I would say it is tipped to hops rathere than balanced. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Big thanks to Old Mr Crow for this one. Wow, what a nice surprise. Just when I get down on IPAs, along comes a West Coast hop bomb that blows me out of the water. THe pour was turbid orangy dark straw with 1-finger of off-white head that retained itself well and left nice concentric circular lace rings. The nose was heavy on the resiny hops, with a lot of pineapple, tangerine, mango, and freshly ground black pepper. The flavor was intense, very hoppy, with the black peppery and tropical citrus fruit notes, and a huge malt bill that caused this one to be extremely well balanced with an astounding complexity. The hops were behemoth, but they didn’t overpower this one. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to do a horizontal with this and Dreadnaught. As it stands, you need to do whatever it takes to procure yourself some of this. It is amazing, and my words cannot possibly do it justice. HughConway (367), Washington, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Bomber from BrewDad! Nose of citrusy, orangey hops with a little light caramel; very lightly hazed copper with a big off-white head; flavor is hop bitterness, light orange fruitiness, and caramel; finish is light bitterness. Pretty good IPA! brewandbbq (269), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 7, 2008 Pours clear gold, with a slight chill haze and a half-inch head of white.
Aromatics are floral and citrusy, but a bit subdued and certainly not pungent.
A nice mix of peaches, pineapples, and tangerines.
Mouthfeel is medium, crisp, and snappy. Lightly chaulky and drying.
The pallet has plenty of lingering bitterness, albeit smooth, and a decent amount of hop juice.
More piney on the pallet than in the nose, with additional grapefruit pith and powdered orange.
Alcohol is warming, but barely so.
Finishes with a long, drying bitterness, and plenty of citrus flesh.
