Hazy golden ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Terrific retention. Malty nose with citrusy, Tomahawk hop essence. Well-balanced flavor… near perfect stability between biting hop bitterness and malty sweetness. Hearty and rich. Medium-bodied and slightly creamy with lively effervescence. Bitter, mildly astringent finish that winds up dry. A big THANKS to boboski for sharing the bottle! riversideAK (2650), Shoreline, Washington, USA Dec 3, 2007 A pleasantly balanced NW IPA. Gold orange color with good lacing and a lasting head. Earthy hop aroma with some grapefruit rinds too. Floral and herbal bitterness is light with a nice biscuity malt backbone. Not too bitter, not too sweet. Extremely drinkable for 6.6%. dchmela (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 27, 2007 Bottle courtesy Boboski. Pours big hazy orange with a thick off white head. Big malt and a huge hop profile that also has white grapefruit and pine in it. Very carbonated, just fills you mouth up. Actually, keeps foaming up when it should be going down. Nice dry hop aftertaste. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 26, 2007 Pours a clear deep gold with tall bubbly tan head that just doesn’t fade away. That head was buoyed up by the carbonation and just didn’t die. The aroma is mild with hints of floral hops and mild malt sweetness. The flavor begins with hoppy bitterness from floral and spicy hops that are amped up due to the big carbonation. This beer is certainly over carbonated for the style. There is a mild note of malt sweetness that intercedes before the hop bitterness grows into the after taste. Edmoe (126), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 18, 2007 Pours yellow-orange w/ very thick head. Bizarre CO2 ’streamers’ bubbling up from bottom of glass. Aroma is hoppy, pine...not as hoppy as I was hoping. Flavor is mostly hoppy pine... bitterness a little out of balance. Had a weird foamy mouthfeel. Did not like this at all. Overall, not a bad IPA, but a little too bitter, too much pine, and that foamy mouth thing. Tmoney99 (4663), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Nov 12, 2007 Bottle from shigadeyo. Poured cloudy amber with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Heavy grapefruit citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture. Heavy bitter flavor with a heavy smooth bittersweet finish of long duration. A standout beer. eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 7, 2007 Bottle courtesy 5000 / Larry Pitonka. Pour was typical for the style, nice initial head, decent retention, very good lacing in a glass that normally doesn’t assist such things. The aroma was a citrus and piney hop blend. Flavor followed the aroma, a pretty simplistic IPA, yet pretty tasty and featuring an extra lingering bitterness (but not over the top) on the tongue. Mouthfeel was excessively carbonated, average to below average body for the style. A rather nice IPA, thanks for the opportunity on this one, Andre.
