after4ever (2699), Brier, Washington, USA Nov 4, 2007 Draft at the Issaquah Brewhouse. Pours crystal clear medium coppery amber. Dense but thin white head. Thick sheets of white lace. Lemony, grassy, caramelly and piney nose. Rich medium body with soft, perfectly placed carb. Bold shots of pine rip across the attack and the mid-palate. Bracingly bitter creosote cascades down the finish. Wonderful refreshing stuff. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Oct 19, 2007 22 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. Pours a dark amber color with a thin but persistant off white head. Nice lacing. Has an appealing grapefruit floral aroma. Medium bodied with a big, refreshing tart grapefruit flavor right off the bat. A malt sweetness sneaks in the back door but only to complement the hops.
A damn fine ipa.

Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Oct 9, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. A single hop IPA, interestingly. Copious grapefruit and pine in the aroma courtesy of the Columbus hops, which are leafy, green, juicy and fresh. Clear medium golden amber color, head is fine, white and leaves a thin sheet of lace draping the glass. Flavor is likewise a showcase for the hops, more grapefruit, juicy lemon and pine, full of resins, fresh and oily, with a hints of toasty malt sweetness here and there, finishing bitter and hoppy again, cleansing and lightly acidic. Mouthfeel is bracing and clean, very lightly sticky at the close. Body is medium. Just slugs you in the face with the hops. Nice! gotohelunc (473), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 3, 2007 Updated: Jul 10, 2008Draft at Stix. This is my kind of beer. Nice bitter hops aroma. Mildly hazy copper color, solid white head. Very smooth drinking citrusy hoppy beer with a clean, crisp finish. Nice caramel as well. I likey.
Rerated a year later via bomber. Just as amazing. So hoppy, so west coast, just amazingly strong hoppy deliciousness. TheCheeseMan (538), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2007 Very appealing orangish brown color when poured, Aroma is hoppy and bright, very citrus like. The malts do peek through, with some grassy notes bringing up the rear. Flavor is much more bitter than I had anticipated, and I like it. Very balanced beer that would make a nice everyday drinker. Thanks again Jason!!! mgumby10 (1843), Jupiter, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2007 Pours a cloudy orange with a thick, yet quickly disappearing white head. Pretty profound hop aroma, with a nice citrus background. Big and bold. The flavor is huge bitter hops, almost burnt hops or something. I get very little of that citrus that I smelled, more leafy and grassy. There was some definite maltiness in there to give it a little balance, along with some caramel. The finish then turns to hop bitterness and stays that way in the aftertaste. Interesting, but a touch too bitter. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA Sep 28, 2007 Updated: Sep 30, 2007Lightly hazy apple juice golden pour with some darker orange hints. A thin off-white head creates sparse lacing. The hoppy aroma is simple and pleasant. Cereal grains are tied in nicely with fruit, mostly orange, barely ripe grapefruit and musty canteloupe. Slight vegetation indicative of Columbus single-hopping spurs on fresh green notes. Hay/straw and fresh, unmilled grain is hefty. High bittering units are exciting - they’re one dimensional but this is an easygoing session beer. Toasty, buttery malt(no diacetyl present) provides ample backbone and support. Bitterness is medium-high to high, sweetness is mild to medium, acidity and astringency are medium but never bothersome or overdone. The flavor is balanced, as is the finish - a finale that’s moderately bitter, medium-sweet but drying modestly and steadily. The mouthfeel is fully and finely carbonated, light-medium bodied, lightly sticky and spicy. A very tasty session beer. ndhowlett (13), aurora, Colorado, USA Sep 26, 2007 Amazing hoppy aroma. Great light orange color, with an yellowish white head. Sent my nose into an intense hoppy heaven. The taste was very fufilling, with a crisp citrus finish. Very bold, all around. Great IPA!! Highly reccomended, but probalby hard to find outside of WA.
