robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Jul 28, 2007 pours amber with a nice creamy white head that slicks around awhile.
smells floral with a little hops.
taste is nicely bitter and dry, mmmmm lots of hops, just a tad sweet on the center of the tougne.
nice beer especially if you are a hop lover. jclzony (25), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 24, 2007 Pours an orange gold color from a 22 oz bottle with an average sized white foamy head with strong lacing accompaniment. Aroma is filled with grapefruit and floral hops. Malts are fruity and sweet. The hop flavor comes through with definite grapefruit and also containing some citrus and piney tones. This accomplished a great bitterness expected for today’s IPA’s but has a nice smooth malt middle. This is a good typical example of a Pacific Northwest IPA. Finish is clean and crisp. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA Jul 24, 2007 Sampled this one on draught at the brewery in Snoqualmie Falls, WA. This beer, like Diamond K not IPA is a true bench mark of AIPA. This beer delivers tremendous hop aromas, flavors, and bitterness, yet remains so drinkable. This beer pours to a bright, deep golden to copper color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is fantastic, just dripping with fragrant and zesty, citrus/grapefruit hop aromas. The palate is firm, with a good biscuit and light carmel malt base, that acts as a spring board to candied citrus/grapefruit hop flavors. This beer finishes with more good biscuit malt and tangy hops up front, then ends with a wonderful grapefruit bitterness that lingers. Just a fantastic example of the style that has it all. A fantastic aperitif beer, a great match to spicy foods, and a wonderful beer to sip and savor. If ever in Washington State, a visit out to Snoqualmie Falls is a must. Growlers and 22oz bombers availabe to go as well, and also available in select PNW markets. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 17, 2007 Copper colou with a nice white fluffy head. Nose of citrussy hops and malts. Flavour is welll balanced. Finishes dry and with a nice driy leveling. A well executed IPA. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA May 15, 2007 Clear dark golden color with a full off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit peels, apricots, grass and only a slight sniff of toffee. A very straightforward IPA, more traditional than most with flavors of light pine and caramel. Strength is there as expected. LIght zesty finish. With a slight return of pale malts in the linger. Quite bitter throughout, but the malt seems to be in place as well. Thanks Larry Pitonka! Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2007 Bottle. Lively orange color with a great amount of carbonation going on. Massive lacing. This beer looked good but the flavor was all bitterness. Not in a good way but not in a bad way either...just ok. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Apr 23, 2007 Bottle. Amber beer with a whitish head. Grapefruit and pine aroma. Piney flavor with some grapefruit and malt backing. Well balanced for IPA while keeping good bitterness. Lingering spice, fruit, pine. Medium body. Nice. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 10, 2007 WOW! What an IPA! Thanks to Larry Pitonka! Hazy amber color. Smell of hops, pine, malt, flowers, caramel, cotton candy and some alcohol. Taste of hops, malt, grapefruit, apricots, pine, sugar, flowers, spice and a wonderful bitterness. Awsome IPA. What a treat! I need some more.
