Piney flavor with some grapefruit and malt backing. Well balanced for IPA while keeping good bitterness. Lingering spice, fruit, pine. Medium body. Nice. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Smell of hops, pine, malt, flowers, caramel, cotton candy and some alcohol. Taste of hops, malt, grapefruit, apricots, pine, sugar, flowers, spice and a wonderful bitterness. Awsome IPA. What a treat! I need some more. brewsnobby (4), Maple Valley, Washington, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2007 Nice and cloudy, light amber, solid head. Fruity, citrusy hops in the aroma, nice but not super strong. mmmmmmmm sweet, spicy, fruity up front with a solid malt backbone. Finishes out beautifully with a flavorful bitterness. A very good IPA. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 2, 2007 22 oz. bottle - looks and smells like a solid IPA with strong fruity aromas, but taste comes off bitter and lacking in malts to balance out the hops BrewDad (2366), Olympia, Washington, USA

Deep amber color with an aroma that would knock over the lay beer drinker. This was a hopped up brew and then some. NW IPA for sure. This was a great beer and the finish was quite nice. Great beer.

What a nose this beer has...really great hops here. The flavor is the same. Not much to note in the way of malt, except perhaps some toffee sweetness. This beer is triumphantly hopped....just the way I like my IPA. Very good. DrBayern (1135), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2007 22 oz. bottle from a trade with asteele8. This is truly a beautiful looking beer - a big off white head with a creamy texture, sticky complex lace, and fantastic durability over a slightly hazy gold pour. Aroma of honey, light brown sugar, pine and citrus. Medium body and carbonation combines with an astringent and mildly resinous mouthfeel. Dominant grapefruit bitterness comes on quickly, but is countered by a light caramel seetness. Nonetheless, the bitterness persists through a long satisfying finish. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Bottle: Cloudy gold with a whit head. Heavy hop aromas - particularly, grapefruit rind and other floral notes. Take a drink and WOW, BAB-ING, KAPOW! This IPA is monstrously bitter. Your tongue is immediately greeted by strong, bitter, pungent flavors. The whole drink is an overwhelming blunt bitterness. It doesn’t stop with the aftertatse - it continues for a long time. I think this is a well structured NW IPA. This is what I want when I don’t want any sweetness or a a strong malt presence in my beverage.
