Fightfire4beer (125), Virginia, USA Dec 6, 2006 tap. copper color with a thin white head. Wow... this beer smells just like it tastes. bitter fruit and hops, hops, hops. malt is very evident in the taste but does not bury the hops by any means. C Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 7, 2006 Updated: Aug 25, 2009In short: A very standard but well done IPA with resinous and pine-tree hopping
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh a few days after receiving it from after4ever. Thanks a lot Tom
The look: Clear golden body topped by a medium white head
In long: Moderately hoppy nose with pine-tree cone, some citrus and some herbal notes (dried parsley among others). Bready malts with a light honey and caramel flavour. Medium bitterness with a character that is 2/3 resinous and 1/3 pine-tree with some light herbal notes. A little creamy sensation. A very good brew despite feeling very “common/ordinary”. Medium body and medium carbonation. That Wildcat IPA is really as aggressive as a wild cat, and if you drink a dozen and go rollerskating you’ll even get the scars too. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Oct 18, 2006 bottle. nice copper pour with two fingers of frothy head. nice lacing. malty, citrus hops, slightly earth aroma. Big citrus hops. white grapefruit bitter finish. malts a bit milder than the aroma. Nice fruity IPA zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Oct 16, 2006 (bottle - 22 oz) Got this in a trade from jah noth. Gold in color with a mountain of white foam. One of the most carbonated beers I’ve run across. Aroma has a lot of hops as well as a lot of citrus notes. Some pineapple and a good amount of grapefruit. Flavor has lots of hops and floral notes at the beginning with a very prevalent citrus middle and a decent amount of malts. Finish is very piney and floral with good strong bitterness and a lingering resin flavor. Really nice IPA. Thanks Dan. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Sep 27, 2006 Bottled. Pours a golden orange with a lacy white head. Medium, lightly creamy body and fine carbonation. Aroma of grapefruit and pineapple. More pineapple in the taste, along with some malty toffee and nuts that quickly give way to grapefruit rinds. Lingering resinous finish. A tasty IPA. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA Sep 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours a orange color with a nice sized white head on top. Aroma is hops and grapefruits. Flavor is hops and with a nice malt backbone as advertised. Nice bitter hop/grapefruit taste upfront that is finished off with a sweet caramel end. This beer just solidfies that I love this area for IPAs. MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2006 light orange color slightly glowing body w/ a thick white head w/ thick soapy lacing. Full hop aroma smellls very nice smooth lightly grapefruit fresh juiced aroma light carmel to a well balance very nice. Full well coated palate very nice and oily. Flavor has a ton of malt a very sweet carmel nice toasty notes well hopped flavor almost seems to be a BW has a very dry almost piney finish... i guess it just wasn’t quite big enough to make the jump. Very good stuff though. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2006 Thanks Chuck. The beer pours to a hazy caramel colored body with a lasting creamy white head and dense sheet lacing. The aroma is juicy nectarines, peaches, grapefruit. The flavor is extremely toasty. My God there’s a lot of malt in this. Fruitiness and hopping gets covered up by the malt, but is still slightly apparent. Pretty well balanced as I wouldn’t say this had no hops in it. Creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good beer, hard to call it an IPA.
