heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA Oct 16, 2005 Poured with a medium orange body and a white head that stuck around. The aroma was oranges with a hint of caramel and toffee. I also got a whiff of iced tea. The taste is bitter grapefruit and burnt caramel. There is a slight edge of pine and some slight black pepper in the finish. Sharp finish. Thanks for the bottle, MrFacto. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 16, 2005 Amber body under a thick foamy off-white head maintained by heavy carbonation. Nose of lime juice, fresh-cut green grass. Not much sweetness in the aroma but the flavor brings out a substantial caramel foundation w/ peppery, grassy hop bitterness; lime rind and grass in the finish. A differently-abled IPA. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Sep 16, 2005 This IPA pours an orange gold color from a 22 oz bottle. A medium sized white foamy head with strong lacing. Aroma is fruity and floral hops. A medium bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are grapefruity, citrus and piney. The bitterness is way up there but it has a nice smooth malt middle. Nice creamy carbonation. This beer has that typical PNW IPA in your face hoppiness, yet there is a certain subtleness to it as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA Sep 6, 2005 bought this bomber in snoqualmie, the falls are quite beautiful kids, you should partake if your in the area. shit man, this one poured out orange amber with some haze silt. aroma of fresh cascade ripples the nares. nice bitter bite up front from the hops and grapefruit squeeze in the back. nice citrus lavender flower feel. shout it out and tell others this one is good man, good! DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 3, 2005 (22 oz bottle: $3.39 at Bottleworks in Seattle, WA) Highly recommended by the guy at Bottleworks, so let’s go! Some hops and a very light tea in the aroma, but also a fair amount of stinky feet. The flavor is more hoppy than the aroma indicates, it being somewhat citrusy and piney, and in balance with the malt initally, but then the finish is dominated by the citrusy hops. So to me, this is more a traditional, hoppy Pacific Northwest IPA. Medium bodied, fairly clean, with a crisp finish. The hazy and bright golden-amber body is topped by a bubbly and small off-white head that settles to a film, but is easily stirred to life with a quick swirl. I like this beer, but it’s a bit more of a standard IPA, and I prefer more malt in my IPAs. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA Aug 28, 2005 Very nice beer courtesy of LarryP. Well made and enjoyable, not an over the top rendition which is refreshing. Well balanced with hints of fruit among all the hop bitterness. Too bad so many brewers feel the need to be extreme instead of making well rounded, easy drinking beers like this. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Aug 24, 2005 22 oz. bottle - shared courtesy of DarkElf, thanks! Pours a nice peachy amber color with a slight haze and moderate off white head that left good lacing. Mild aroma - unexpectedly timid for a proclaimed hop monster - citrus hops were evident along with peach, and toasty malts along with an odd staleness. Flavor is nice, with a good toasty-fruity malt sweetness balanced by the crisp citrus flavors of the hops. This didn’t occur to me as a 75 IBU brew, but who knows. Medium body and creamy carbonation give this one a pleasant mouthfeel. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA Jul 20, 2005 Clear coppery hue, thick head formation. Rich fruity piney aroma with grapefruit and pineapple. Dryish hoppy pate, plent of bitter fruitiness, mildly malty underbody. Essentially bi tter throughout.
