Pours a nice peachy amber color with a slight haze and moderate off white head that left good lacing. Mild aroma - unexpectedly timid for a proclaimed hop monster - citrus hops were evident along with peach, and toasty malts along with an odd staleness. Flavor is nice, with a good toasty-fruity malt sweetness balanced by the crisp citrus flavors of the hops. This didn’t occur to me as a 75 IBU brew, but who knows. Medium body and creamy carbonation give this one a pleasant mouthfeel. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

Rich fruity piney aroma with grapefruit and pineapple. Dryish hoppy pate, plent of bitter fruitiness, mildly malty underbody. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2005 Mud caked orange sludge with a medium sized creamy yellow stained head. Broken rings of stringy sheets lace the glass.
Raw and pungent dark orangey hops with a moderate pine sap aroma takes up a medium wiffing strength. Nice toffee touch of sweet caramel-like candy sits underneath.
Taste has lovely balance in the front and middle with orange and grapefruit flavors and chewy toffee smoothness. Pine grabs and bitterness tugs a bit more on the trailing end with a loose, wild flow. Late finish sets a slightly more brighter tone of bitterness and an addition to a bit of toasty bread crusts and hop heat.
Good medium body with a smooth transition of hops and caramel. mild toned yet active bitterness and citric slices in with some slight hop heat in the back of the throat late in the finish.
A well balanced IPA; both sweet and hoppy with both interchanging the smooth drinkability to a course of acceptable levels on all scales. BBB63 (4228), La Porte, Indiana, USA

Pours a slightly hazed coppery hue with a big frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has a nice clean citric hop leaf character with additional peppery, bready malt, and earthy esters. The taste is nicely balanced with sharp bitters, grapefruit twang, and sweet bready malts. Resiny and metallic on the finish. The feel is sharp but not in-your-face. A very good IPA that most will enjoy, I did. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2005 Bomber thanks to Larry Pitonka. Slightly hazy golden color with a big thick head. Aroma is a buttery hop feel. Citrusy and floral backed up by a decent hop scent. Flavor is a nice grassy hop taste, malty and slightly bitter. Suprisingly easy of a palate, yet still remaining hoppy enough. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 4, 2005 22oz bottle. Golden, slightly murky yellow with a typical white head. Very sweet citrus nose, full of musty hop cone scent... pineapple, some tartness like grapefruit juice, and some nice, mellow spiced malt/grain scents. Balanced is right: this IPA is surprisingly smooth, and the sweet mandarin orange and pineapple hop flavors are downright perfect. Medium bodied, certainly not thin at all, and quite smooth overall. Another IPA that stands out from the rest, this one deserves it’s high mark. I would buy this regularly if I had it available. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 19, 2005 Pours an almost clear amber color, nice white head. Lacing around the entire glass. Aroma of fresh grassy hops. Flavor is more hops, overpowering sweet maltiness to it. Interesting, easy to drink and refreshing. Thanks to Larry Pitonka for this one. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 6, 2005 Pours a clear copper orange with a pillowy white head with thick lacing. Nice green hoppy aroma with undertones of caramel malt, but could be a little more assertive. Starts with some sweet caramel maltiness, light pine and citrus, and lots of resiny hops toward the crisp, dry finish. Well-balanced and smooth. Thanks to Larry Pitonka for this brew!
