Snoqualmie Falls Wildcat IPA

Bottle at Madsberg 2008 Tasting. The star of the show for me. Pours hazy golden with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, lots of grapefruit, light pine. Low carbonation, impressive, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very bitter with a wonderful fruitiness and lots of pine. Very elegantly executed with a great, long, bitter and dry aftertaste.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Slightly hazy golden with an off-white head leaving laces. Spicy and somewhat hop aroma. Medium body, somewhat heavy carbonation, sweet fruits - peach in particular - with a very distinct bitter finish. 291208

Cloudy golden with a medium white head. Aorm ahad hops, pine and citric notes. Hoppy flavour with grapefruit and malty notes. Finished delicious bitter. I Like and thanks Paps.

Bottle. Cloudy golden coloured with a small white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of hops and pine needles with notes of tea. Fruity and hoppy flavour of pine needles, grass, caramel and grape fruits. Hoppy finish.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours slight cloudy orange with a small white head. Mild pinewood aroma. Smooth and woody hoppy flavoured. Mild bitter flavoured. Smooth and hoppy dry finish. Nice and easy.

I do not know where everyone is finding this balance in the beer, it honestly tasted pretty out of control hoppy to me. But being an Oregonian I love insanely hoppy beers, so I am not complaining. Nice orange yellow pour with a big white head that never goes away at all. Also a bunch of sediment floating around. Solid brew, very much worth the 4 bucks for the bomber.

9/26/08 From the bottle. Aroma is citrus forward, earthy, with a slightly sweet background. Appearance is hazy orange with a well maintained white head. Flavor is quite harsh despite the citrus bittering and sweetness fairly even in strength. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, starchy, with a medium carb feel. Overall, so so. It’s impressive in strength but tough to do more than sip.

Bomber. The commericial description is pretty accurate. There was a definate hops presence but it was well balanced by a caramel, toasty malt baclkbone which gave it a good deal of complex and intense flavor but also had a great drinkability. Well done.
