AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA May 30, 2008 so hoppy that it almost numbs my tongue! malty and with a very nice blend of hops so that it’s not totally bitter drfabulous (1213), Columbia, Missouri, USA May 27, 2008 My notes are simple for this one: Solid IPA. Super hops. Nicely done. I had never heard of it before, and was glad to have a waiter who knew what it was. carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA May 20, 2008 somewhat like a mac & jacks amber ale. cloudy amber with foamy head. floral aroma, and a nice hops in the taste CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA May 20, 2008 Pours from bomber medium golden forming a nice large white foamy head. Aroma was of citruis pines, hops and wet forrest rines, malted wild flowers come through as well. Flavour was of peppery herbs, tart pine resins, and citrus notations. Nice and sharply bitter, and overall well made IPA, would love to try on tap. fizl (12), Springfield, Oregon, USA May 10, 2008 Brewed in Snoqualmie, Wa. ABV 6.6%. The nose on this one starts of with very faint citrus, malt and hop notes followed by a tinge of alcohol and a slight skunkiness. The appearance may be the only thing nice about this one. Pours a nicely carbonated crisp white head and a gleaming fresh amber body. On the sip, BITTER! This is followed by minimal malt flavors and a distinct skunkiness, completely unimpressive. Finishes with a strange twang and leaves a bitter skunky aftertaste. The impression on the pallet also leaves little to be desired. It’s medium bodied with an utterly bland mouthfeel. Overall, the least impressive IPA I’ve tried to date. Maybe I got a stale beer Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden May 9, 2008 Updated: May 17, 2008(Bottle, one million thanks to TheSheeseMan) Pours light hazy amber with an off-white head. The aroma is medium hoppy, light malty and light ester-ish with tones of grapefruit, resiny wood/mild pine, light juicy orange, black pepper, mild dried herbs, mild flowers, pineapples, mango, apricot, toffee, cookies and some strange coconut/vanilla (not oak-ish) hints in the background. The flavour is rather juicy, light floral and fruity with citric/resiny hops up front alongside a light toffee/cookie like malt backbone. Medium to heavily dry and bitter finish. The mouthfeel is clean and surprisingly soft and smooth with a light biting carbonation. 30 min resiny and super bitter citrus aftertaste. Medium bodied. Nice aroma but not that complex flavour. Still quite good. chokmah33 (115), Bremerton, Washington, USA May 3, 2008 Creamy pear, white wine and vanilla aromas. Piney hops and a slight musty odor, like decomposing grass.
Flavor starts with apples + wine, building to an acidic resiny hops crescendo before finishing with slightly sweeter citrus notes. Some starchy bread malts (reminds me of sourdough).
Smooth, mouthfilling palate. Creamy texture and a moderate astringent finish. Lothore (276), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a cloudy tangerine color with an ample 1.5 finger white head which sticks around for a while.
S- Smell is dominated by piney hops however is a little bit faint in my opinion.
T- Now this is a nice ipa. Starts off mild, sweet and predominately citrus fruits and moves into an absolute kick in the teeth with piney hops. The lingering hop bitterness is intense. .
M- Just the way I like it, a touch high on the carbonation, medium bodied.
D- The hoppy finish makes you pause while you are drinking this one but I would have no trouble having this as my standby beer if it was available in my area.
