Sampled this one on draught at the brewery in Snoqualmie Falls, WA. This beer, like Diamond K not IPA is a true bench mark of AIPA. This beer delivers tremendous hop aromas, flavors, and bitterness, yet remains so drinkable. This beer pours to a bright, deep golden to copper color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is fantastic, just dripping with fragrant and zesty, citrus/grapefruit hop aromas. The palate is firm, with a good biscuit and light carmel malt base, that acts as a spring board to candied citrus/grapefruit hop flavors. This beer finishes with more good biscuit malt and tangy hops up front, then ends with a wonderful grapefruit bitterness that lingers. Just a fantastic example of the style that has it all. A fantastic aperitif beer, a great match to spicy foods, and a wonderful beer to sip and savor. If ever in Washington State, a visit out to Snoqualmie Falls is a must. Growlers and 22oz bombers availabe to go as well, and also available in select PNW markets.

Alrighty, another tasty treat from my man Andre’. Nice rocky head and lots of lacing. Deep orange/light amber in color, cloudy with lots of floaties and tons of effervescent bubbles. Floral hop aroma - not too strong (the only negative). Creamy mouthfeel. Zesty hop flavor with lemony citris well balanced with a malt backbone, but not overly bready or doughy. A nice beer indeed.

Got this on a whim, new nothing about it, but I like the town so what the hell. Oh what a treasure I stumbled into! Pours deep golden amber, thick pillowy head, great lacing. Nose is as close to perfect as I’ve had in an Ale, pale or IPA. Like walking through a hop field in high summer at dusk when the dew is starting to set and the smell of hops is nearly over powering. So clean, so crisp, under the hops one finds some sweet malts and a touch of citrus (maybe lending to the crispness?). It was hard to pull away from the nose and start tasting, but the effort was worth it. Mouthful is damn near perfection. Clean hop attack, steeped deep in Washington hop goodness <G>. Toasted malts add a welcome depth to the dry hopped fruitiness. Balanced incredibly well start to end. I’ve to get more of these.

Big thanks to Old Mr Crow for this one. Wow, what a nice surprise. Just when I get down on IPAs, along comes a West Coast hop bomb that blows me out of the water. THe pour was turbid orangy dark straw with 1-finger of off-white head that retained itself well and left nice concentric circular lace rings. The nose was heavy on the resiny hops, with a lot of pineapple, tangerine, mango, and freshly ground black pepper. The flavor was intense, very hoppy, with the black peppery and tropical citrus fruit notes, and a huge malt bill that caused this one to be extremely well balanced with an astounding complexity. The hops were behemoth, but they didn’t overpower this one. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to do a horizontal with this and Dreadnaught. As it stands, you need to do whatever it takes to procure yourself some of this. It is amazing, and my words cannot possibly do it justice.

Amazing hoppy aroma. Great light orange color, with an yellowish white head. Sent my nose into an intense hoppy heaven. The taste was very fufilling, with a crisp citrus finish. Very bold, all around. Great IPA!! Highly reccomended, but probalby hard to find outside of WA.

Tap@Belltown Pub, Seattle. This was really great, so much depth of flavour. Start of with some lightly caramelly/buttery malts, finishes very nicely dry and bitter. Orange and grapefruit, a little salty. This is the way i like my IPA’s.

Big Columbus hop charge from start to finish. A good Left Coast IPA.
