Lothore (226), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a cloudy tangerine color with an ample 1.5 finger white head which sticks around for a while.
S- Smell is dominated by piney hops however is a little bit faint in my opinion.
T- Now this is a nice ipa. Starts off mild, sweet and predominately citrus fruits and moves into an absolute kick in the teeth with piney hops. The lingering hop bitterness is intense. .
M- Just the way I like it, a touch high on the carbonation, medium bodied.
D- The hoppy finish makes you pause while you are drinking this one but I would have no trouble having this as my standby beer if it was available in my area.
doubleo (834), San Diego, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 22oz bottle from Old_Mr_Crow. This beer pretty much rules. Pours slightly hazy orange amber with a good size dense head that hangs around and leaves good lace. Smells fruity and floral hoppy. Nice sweet malt aroma mixes with the citrus and bitterness of the hops... beautiful. Tastes just as good. Nice balance between the sweet, caramel malt flavor and the floral, citrusy hops. Lingering hop/citrus bitterness. Medium body, velvetty yet crisp carbonation. nuplastikk (462), Maryland, USA Oct 1, 2008 22oz bottle. Opaque dark orange color. Excellent fragrant hop and sweet malt aroma, hard to put into words. Big, chewy west coast IPA. All out Columbus assault. Not syrupy, but the hops definitely linger long after each sip. Really quite an excellent example of the style. Like the description says, the malt stands up quite well to the hopitude. I’ve been enjoying single hopped beers, and this is one of the best I’ve had. lb4lb (1453), Austin, Texas, USA Sep 24, 2008 bottle in trade from thethrone. Thanks!<br />
Pours a nice light hazy amber with a good sized beige head. Smell is clean, soft, fresh and fruity. Taste is clean and hoppy and mild to begin with, along with a finish that is maltier and lightly doughy and sweeter. A mild bitterness, still, lingers in the finish, but not a super bitter IPA. Over, reminded me of a slightly maltier and doughier Pliny, in that the hop flavor was simple and clean, to me. bu11zeye (3780), Frisco, Texas, USA Sep 12, 2008 (22oz bottle) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, floral, and pine. Flavor of mild hops (grapefruit, pine) and caramel malt. NoiZe (947), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 16, 2008 Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Nice hoppy IPA, decent bitterness!
