Cask at the brewpub. Copper colour. Medicinal nose with bitter orange and caramel. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly malt covers the medicinal notes to some extent. Mid-bitter, slightly chalky finish.

Cask at the Snowdonia Park Brewpub. Mild aroma. Dark copper amber in color with a thin creamy off-white head that leaves some swathes of lacing. Flavor is mild, a touch toasty with a light grassy hoppiness. A fairly run of the mill bitter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught (at the brewpub): Slightly hazy amber coloured; fruity, a bit sweet-malty nose with a tinge of molasses; sweet-bitter flavour; sweetish-malty and - no doubt - fruity finish with a late bitterness. A strongish. well rounded and well balanced bitter.

Cask (handpump), Snowdonia park Hotel, Waunfawr, October 2005. 5.5% according to the board in the pub. Attractive copper colour with a thin, but lasting, white head. Fine malt/hop balance. Full, quite rich mouthfeel with fruity and nutty notes but lots of bitter grip too. A very good beer with plenty of presence. Interesting that they choose to make a quite strong beer as their only regular offering.

Cask Conditioned at The Snowdonia Park Hotel, Waunfawr, Gwynedd, Wales. Brown Amber beer with bubbly white head. The pub is on the platform of Waunfawr station on the Welsh Highland Railway and the beer is a treat. Fruity and harp with a full rounded flavour. Plummy fruits and a richly roasted malt. There is a bitter hoppy finish that lasts forever. Scrummy.
