Wulfstan (433), California, USA Feb 19, 2008 Updated: Apr 4, 2008I had this in the bottle at Bear Valley, CA (near Arnold). This is a nice, interesting, and slightly different pale ale. It’s amber with a big off-white head that is long-lasting and leaves some nice lace. The aroma is a pleasant, fairly full-bodied blend of grapefruity hops, honey, grain, with a hint of brown bread. The taste is interesting mix of sweet caramelly grain/malt, grapefruity hops, honey, toast with a light bitterness to balance the sweetness. It has pleasant lightness and is vry drinkable yet has good depth and interest, and is different from other pale ales in its unusual piney-fruity quality. Refreshing, with nice flavors of hops and fruit. Medium body with a nice, clean finish. Hawksfan17 (588), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 19, 2007 This amber pour has a sweet citrus nose with hints of caramel malt. It is hoppy in flavor and has a slightly bitter finish. i enjoyed it very much. DocLock (3958), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 12, 2007 Thanks to my wife for this. Deep coppery color with aroma of caramel malt, solid hops, some peachy apricot. Tastes fruity, on the tart side, with the hop and citrus presence at mid-palate. Smooth and fairly complex.
