22oz bomber pours pretty darn dark with a mocha tan sort of head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, some burnt malts, chocolate and then a red wine like tartness. The taste, sadly, is the same. I get roasty to chocolate to burnt malts followed by tart tannin red wine like notes. Not that great.

22oz bottle 4/20/13 (Binny’s Naperville Clearance Rack)-43° in English Pint-Pours a dark brown with ruby tints with a loose tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and hops. Taste of chocolate, coffee, malt, and slight hops. This full bodied Porter is well balanced and quite tasty.

Aroma is malts, fruit and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is malts, notes of coffee and chocolate, fruit and a tangy/acidic/bitter finish.

Burnt brown with red hue. Half inch head, gone shortly to a ring with scattered lacing. Aroma: Chocolate with mild coffee roast, some earthy/fruit berry. Taste: Same as aroma, smooth a little oily, somewhat mild taste but with a kinda piney bittering. A bit yeasty, roast shows more on the finish. Good but somewhat average maybe more.

Some nuttiness in the aroma, I’m surprised that this is considered to be the best of their beers at this time. I found it the least drinkable. quite a bit of malt but also stringy and unfortunately a bit buttery sour. Damaged I hope.

(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) clearish brown, creamy fine tan head. Nose of cream, toasty brown sugar, nutty, juicy dark fruit, Melba toast. Taste is nutty, smoke, cream, bacon fat. Weird taste.

Thanks to schmoopsbeer for sending this out my way. Served in a tulip. Pours very dark brown with a two-finger tan head that fades quickly to a collar. The nose carries a bit of roast and chocolate with some mild coffee in the background. Flavor is similar with more roast, and also a slight bit of black licorice. Medium body with a quite dry finish. Decent enough.

Pours an almost black that looks dark ruby color in light with a good sized tan head lacing. Aroma of caramel, coffee and roast. Taste is caramel sweet in front followed by an impressive roasted coffee flavor and hoppy bitterness. Goes down easy. Medium bodied.

Pours a very deep brown color with amber hues with a decent tan foam and good retention. Aroma is of roasted barley with caramel. Taste is lightly sweetened caramel malt with faint suggestions of bitter chocolate. Moderate bitterness and roastiness at the back, with a bit of dryness. Alcohol is not noticible. The mouthfeel is solid and medium bodied. Very drinkable but almost like a stout than a porter.
