5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 CraftonDraft (1) - California, USA - FEB 16, 2012 does not count
The aroma is of chocolate, roasted coffee and it has a nice hop aroma. It pours really dark, black and smooth. You can taste chocolate and coffee with some hints of roast. It’s a really nice, medium bodied porter. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer and will definitely be getting this again.
It pairs nicely with Toscano Salami and Manchego Cheese.

22 oz bottle purchased from Whole Foods. Aroma is excellent with a lot of chocolate and coffee features. Appearance is dark, black and crisp with low carbonation. Taste is chocolate in forefront and coffee and roast in the back ground. Very well balanced. Tried it that night with blue cheese crusted steak and was great. Overall a very solid Porter.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 toby00777 (135) - California, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Black in color with the good sized tan head that had great retention and left a great amount of lacing down the side of the glass. The aromas are roasted grains, caramel, some coffee like aroma and a somewhat pungent hop scent. The taste seems to start on the sweet side with roasted and chocolate malts coming out quite quickly with some notes of coffee mixed in. The end seems to have a break in the type of bitterness, at first I think it was due to the roasted grains but the finish is more of a citric hop. The feel is very smooth and creamy. Over all this is simply an excellent rendition of a Porter.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jeffhobo (94) - Nevada, USA - APR 13, 2012
Pours a very deep brown color with amber hues with a decent tan foam and good retention. Aroma is of roasted barley with caramel. Taste is lightly sweetened caramel malt with faint suggestions of bitter chocolate. Moderate bitterness and roastiness at the back, with a bit of dryness. Alcohol is not noticible. The mouthfeel is solid and medium bodied. Very drinkable but almost like a stout than a porter.

Nice black color with a very nice head that dissipates nicely with a beatiful lacy finish. Coffee aromas invite you to taste more, and the coffee-like flavors tantilize the taste buds, remaining well rounded throughout. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and reminds you to sip this nicely fromed brew. Drinakbility is good, if you’re in a sippimg mood.
